Oklahoma City Thunder rookie Dillon Jones hit a clutch shot and finished in double figures on Friday in the G League, helping lead the OKC Blue against the Stockton Kings.
Jones produced 13 points, six rebounds, five assists and one blocked shot in the 105-104 overtime loss at the Paycom Center. He shot 5-of-18 from the field, including 1-of-5 from 3-point range, and had one turnover in 35 minutes as the Blue dropped to 16-14.
The 26th pick scored all 13 points in the second half after missing his first eight shots from the field. He hit a game-tying shot with 17 seconds left to send the game to overtime.
Jones is averaging 13.5 points, 7.4 rebounds and 5.7 assists on 42.1% shooting from the field in 23 games with the Blue. He has registered five 20-point games, including 20 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists on Feb. 26 in a win over the Raptors 905.
The 23-year-old has benefited from the Thunder and Blue playing their home games in the same building in Oklahoma City. He has suited up with the Blue in morning tip offs and then joined the Thunder in the evening for some contests when their schedules align.
Jones has impressed with his hard work and ability to impact games on both ends of the floor. The organization believes he can develop into a regular contributor and is eager to watch him continue to evolve.
