My wife won 2 $75 tickets in a contest to watch the Suns VS. Utah recently. $150 for 2 season tickets per game? I understand they may be cheaper, but even so, how can people afford this?? I go to the games each year and think, "These people MUST be rich!" There are entirely different groups of people who go to Suns games than Rattler, Diamondback, or Cardinal games. I really feel the Suns crowd are older wealthier people in general, and I feel I see less kids at these games than at the other pro sports games in the valley. I understand the Suns position, but at some point people are going to say they can't afford it.

According to that article their will be more cheaper seats available and the Suns tickets by average are among the cheapest NBA tickets in the Western Conference...

Even still, you look at $30 tickets or more for good seats. Then you multiply that by 40 home games (rounded off) for $1200, and who just buys 1 ticket, so multiply that by 2 for $2400. That's a real minimum number, I believe I am underestimating. Then parking and food, too! Oh my! I guess being a parent and sending my kid to a private school has me watching my $$ to begin with. Being single, I guess it wouldn't be real bad. I would have to buy 3 to 4 tickets. Ouch!

I really think that if you want someone to blame for the incredibly high prices of tickets to sports games and the NBA in particular you should be playing your finger at the players and their agents. Even under the constraints of the current CBA players' salaries are out of control.

No actually you should be pointing your finger at the people willing to go to the games, and actually ourselves for watching the games on tv... If most fans stopped watching basketball for a couple years the whole structure would change. It's all about supply and demand and Jerry thinks he can make more money raising the prices because even if less people go the people who have money and are die hard fans, people who just have a hell of a lot of money, and large corporations will keep paying for them even if he loses a couple normal fans.

Actually I don't think it is fair to blame the players and their agents alone. We also need to include the owners that were willing to fork out the ridiculous money in the first place. Kevin Garnett's contract in particular really got the huge contracts rolling.

as i read it, the ticket price overhaul is a good thing. Expensive tickets raise in price in ordr to provide more cheap seats. this move helps the lower income group a lot, and does so at the expense of wealthier ticket holdrs.

Yeah, but just where are these cheap seats? The upper part of the stadium is basically unusable, really.

Not really. I have a 15 game season ticket pack in the 10 dollar range in one of the upper corners. I can see the court just fine. Would lower level be better? Of course, but the upper deack in the corners is far from useless.

If you are in the upper deck in the middle of the baseline, then you are screwed. Those seats usually suck, but are still watchable.

Also, lower level ticket prices dropped in the top row of the lower level. In all, 31% of tickets had their price reduced. The largest increase was in the floor seat prices. Rows 15 and up had a 20 dollar price hike, and rows 30-15 had a 10 dollar increase.

However, that 10 dollar increase put them back at 85 bucks a seat. My parents had season tickets from 95-2000 in 30th row, and they were 85 a seat. So basically, the team dropped the price for a few years, and brought it back up. It is more of a flucuation than a price increase.

I mean the suns are one of the 5 lowest in ticket prices for season tickets on the lower level in the west. They also have over 3 times the required about of 10 dollar seating. The average ticket price is just under 50 bucks (not incliding courtside), which isn't that bad of a deal.

Since season tickets can beocme expensive fast, as you pointed out, the suns sell different game packs (which is great for me, since I am in college and broke as can be). You can get a half season, 15 game or 10 game packs.

The upper level seats are really bad. I'd rather watch a game on TV than sit up there and those are the only decently priced seats and they still get up to $38.50 + Fees a ticket in the mid-court section. The Lower Lever seats are good but they start at $62.50 + fees for single game seats. I can't imagine taking a family to a game even with the discounted childrens tickets.

I have 7 2-for-1 ticket coupons for this year. So far I've used one. The trade really killed my ambition to see these guys this year.

Now, from my limited/outsider's POV, it looks like they've tanked the season to invest in the draft and FA for next year. I'll prolly want to see them play next year more than this year. We'll have to see who plays for them next year to validate the ticket increases.

Are those coupons good for any tickets? Maybe if you aren't going to use them...
