How much does the loss of Spach hurt our running game?

The loss of Spach will be an issue... We were effective running the ball the last few weeks, and it just so happened that Spach was playing...
We know Pope couldn't block his grandmother, and while I do like Patrick as a receiver, not sold on his blocking abilities either...

This is a bummer particularly when you see how it happened. Some dude on the Panthers jammed his knew right into the side of Spach's knee... It wasn't a normal sort of case when someone rips up there knee.

Anyway, I really wish the Cards didn't have to deal with this sort of issue. Ugghhhh...

I very much share your concern. The Cardinals running game has been poor for the longest time and it may be that we now know that the biggest problem has been the lack of a blocking tight end. Pope and Patrick have been here for awhile and neither showed that he is a decent blocker.

I just watched the replay on nfl.com and I share your feelings albeit he has been a decent blocker since we picked him up. Tuman was supposed to be that guy but injuries put him down...he is now resigned, but don't expect too much.
