Where did the Indianapolis Colts rank in spending during the first two weeks of NFL free agency?
After essentially sitting on the sidelines last offseason with the additions of Raekwon Davis and Joe Flacco being the only two outside additions that GM Chris Ballard made, this year we saw the Colts make a big splash on the first day of the NFL's legal tampering period by bringing in Charvarius Ward and Cam Bynum.
The Colts also signed Daniel Jones to a decent-sized one-year deal to provide competition at quarterback and have made 10 free agent signings in total.
In terms of total contract value on these free agent signings, the Colts spent $142.62 million, according to Over the Cap, which ranks as the 13th most in the NFL. In terms of total guaranteed dollars, the Colts rank 15th with $85.935 million. Lastly, by average annual value, the Colts rank 12th at $6.34 million.
The biggest deals for the Colts belonged to Bynum and Ward. Bynum signed a four-year deal worth $60 million with $26 million guaranteed. Ward would sign a three-year deal worth $54 million and $27 million guaranteed.
Overall, the Colts have $19.81 million in available cap space, which ranks as the 21st most.
