The New Orleans Saints have done it again, they have micromanaged the cap well enough to give themselves a decent chunk of money to work with as the offseason progresses. With seven additions so far, they have already been able to put together quite a few moves to improve the team. But now, they have more cap space than they have had in recent years, which means they may be able to pursue a decently impressive contract if they wish to.

Current projections have the Saints right around $27 to $29 million, give or take. Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football recently calculated the numbers, putting the team at approximately $28 million, prior to the signing of offensive lineman Dillon Radunz (who will likely be on a relatively small-scale contract). A more recent analysis of the numbers by Katherine Terrell of ESPN has the Saints at $31 million not including the Radunz contract, but including Ugo Amadi and other more recent number updates.

According to OverTheCap, they sit at right around $30 million, not including Ugo Amadi, Dillon Radunz, or Brandin Cooks as those contracts were not updated in their system.

Ultimately, they have quite a bit of money to work with one way or another as numbers continue to roll in. This leaves the team with a decent amount to spend on remaining free agents, and with the draft class projected to cost around $5.5 million against the cap (if they make all their picks and don't trade out of some), they still have plenty to actively utilize.
