Michigan State basketball is on to Atlanta.
The No. 2 seed Spartans advanced to the Sweet 16 in the South region in the NCAA tournament after taking down 10-seed New Mexico 71-63 on Sunday in the second round. MSU is back in the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2023, where they will face No. 6 seed Mississippi on Friday. Ole Miss defeated No. 3 seed Iowa State, 91-78.
The South region Sweet 16 and Elite Eight will be held on Friday and Sunday at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. The winner of Michigan State-Ole Miss on Friday will advance to play the winner of No. 1 Auburn vs. No. 5 Michigan in the other Sweet 16 game in the South.
It'll be an expensive ticket and fans from the Mitten state will be flooding to Atlanta as there's a chance the Wolverines and Spartans could meet in the Elite Eight with a trip to the Final Four on the line.
