LSU baseball begins its biggest series this season on Friday as the Tigers travel to Austin to face No. 8 Texas. It's a top 10 series pitting two of the sport's top programs against one another.
The Longhorns are in their first season as members of the SEC. Texas began its SEC tenure with a clean sweep of Mississippi State last week.
LSU also began its 2025 conference schedule with a sweep, taking care of Missouri last weekend. LSU, now No. 2 in the country, will have a No. 1 next to its name next week if the Tigers can get a series win this weekend.
As usual, Kade Anderson will get the ball for LSU on Friday night. Anderson has 48 strikeouts in 28 innings while posting a 2.57 ERA. A good outing vs. Texas can solidify Anderson as one of the top starting pitchers in the country.
At the plate for the Tigers, Jared Jones and Derek Curiel have both surpassed 30 hits on the year. Jones leads the team with eight homers and 34 RBI.
