First off all, argue with some respect because i know you wouldnt talk that to my face. Secondly, Levi and L Davis both ran 5.3's at the combine so i doubt hes a "freakish athlete" compared to Levi

Absolutely I would, because there is no disrespect in that comment. I am LITERALLY asking you if you have seen him play, because ON THE NFL FOOTBALL FIELD Leonard Davis was a FREAK. He had his short comings, but his talent level was UNREAL. His talent level dwarfs Levi Browns in every way. Leonard Davis dominated grown ass men on the football field. The closest thing I have seen to Leonard Davis was Larry Allen who was a freak of nature and whose team was smart enough to keep at OG. I am not an internet tough guy like you trying to talk about respect, my post is an honest question because you not being able to see the difference between those two players is absurd to me.

How do you fix an offensive line? Here are some tips...

In 2011...

-You don't re-sign an underwhelming, yet overachieving OC like Lyle Sendlein to a 5yr, $16.25 million dollar contract w/ a $3.5 million dollar bonus. Instead, you use your 38th pick in the draft to select Stefen Wisniewski, a hard nose legacy player, and sign him to a 4yr, $4.135 million dollar contract w/ a $1.5 million dollar bonus. This saves you about $8 million over 4 years.

-However, you still sign Daryn Colledge to a terrible contract due to need. :(

In 2012...
-You don't sign Adam Snyder to a 5yr, $17.5 million dollar contract w/ a $5 million dollar bonus. Instead, you take this approximate $3 million per year, add in the $2 million you saved by not re-signing Sendlein, and add a half mil per year, and sign Eric Winston to a 4yr, $22 million dollar contract w/ a $8.4 million dollar bonus.

Then you draft David DeCastro with the 13th pick in the draft, and Senio Kelemente with the 151st pick in the draft. DeCastro signs for 4yrs, $9.971 million w/ a 5.692 mil bonus. Senio gets low money.

Now your offensive line looks like this for about the same money...

LT-Levi Brown (signed through 2016)
LG-Daryn Colledge (signed through 2015)
OC-Stefen Wisniewski (signed through 2014)
RG-David DeCastro (signed through 2015)
RT-Eric Winston (signed through 2015)

and w/ Senio Kelemente ready to unseat Daryn Colledge.

This does leave the team without Michael Floyd or Ryan Williams (who I really like), but running backs are diminished in today's game and there are a larger number of wide receivers coming out of college than ever before (could have used our 4th rounder on one).

You had me at Eric Winston. If we only added Winston this line would be much improved.

But the biggest mistake of all...resigning Levi Brown. That alone improves one of the bottom Olines in the NFL. I really don't understand the reasoning behind 99% of peeps here not seeing reality of this bozo.

Step One - Stop giving Grimm input on personnel decisions. The guy is worse then a blind squirrel. He needs to give the scouts and pro player scouts a list of traits he wants and that should be the end of his input.

Just because Grimm picked some of them doesn't mean that they are any good. My point is, while I don't like Grimm, you can't say there has been alot of talented offensive linemen on the roster. I'm saying the Cards need to bring in some talent on the OL if they ever want to be any good on the OL.

The problem is, you can't ask for and get the players you want, and then be excused from blame when those players suck.

That's a start. Still, it keeps an underwhelming coach on our roster. We need to get rid of Grimm, for starters, and get someone in here with a proven track record with the OL.

I pretty much like it except for Levi but then is there really any other choice? When the Cards took Floyd over DeCastro I was dumbfounded. As someone said in another thread now I will have to watch DeCastro road grade for Steeler RBs and pass block for Rottenburger for years and lament what could have been.

Guess DeCastro wasn't Grimm's type of guy, Guess he doesn't like talent.

Besides my sig? Invest in the line with a high picks next year. Any position is fine. Probably need a total re-work anyway.

For the longest time, our edges were the problem. Now it looks like defenders are getting a push up the middle. Probably time to replace Lyle with a proven veteran FA next year.

Grimm still likes being the best Guard on the team.

Another option to fix our offensive line.

1-Draft OT prospect Jake Matthews out of Texas A&M in the 2nd round. His dad Bruce seemed to work out pretty well, and Jake is pretty skilled.

2-Draft OG prospect Jonathan Cooper out of North Carolina in the 3rd round (if he makes it). A tremendous size/speed OG prospect to plant at RG while Senio Kelemente replaces Daryn Colledge at LG.

This would gives us two decent OTs in Levi Brown and Jake Matthews with a developmental prospect in Bobbie Massie. It would give us two athletic OGs who can get outisde to block on pulling plays and get to the second level to cut off pursuit. Our only hole would be Sendlein, but we could replace him the follwoing year.

I guess I should answer the question if I am going to make snarky comments to the thread starter.

1: Leave Levi Brown at LT. He is average at best, but he is the best OT we have. Let him settle in at LT during the preseason. He gives up pressure off the edge, but can generally limit inside rush moves which, if the interior of the pocket holds up, allows Qbs to move up in the pocket to avoid the that outside rusher.

2: Start Senio Kelemente at LG. I don't like moving two players, but this is the spot he has the most reps in on the side of the line he has played on since college. It also puts him between two veterans. Senio's athleticism and ability to get blocks on the second level of the defense could really open up our running game, especially on backside cut backs. He will struggle with strength, but I will take that as it should improve during the season.

3: Move Darryn Colledge to RG and let him battle with Adam Snyder. Neither are very athletic or strong at point of attack, but I think Colledge is smart enough to adjust to the right side and is more consistent than Snyder. It would at least provide some consistency next to our RT position.

4: Let Bridges and Batiste battle for the starting RT spot, and let Massie figure out what it means to play in the pros. From what I have seen he is lazy, and just needs to figure out the level of play needed at this level to be successful because he has the physical tools.

5: Add more talent to the offensive line in the offseason at OC & RG specifically, and potentially at RT, again. I would love to have a physical OC for once, and I feel both Colledge and Snyder are crappy at best. Hopefully Massie learns what it takes to be a pro, but if not, Jake Mathews from Texas A&M will be available in the 2nd round. His dad Bruce was pretty good.

or take Ricky Wagner(Wisconsin) in the first
