When is he HOF eligible? 2007 or 2008?

2009. The HoF classes of 2008 and 2009 will be amazing. MacInnis, Stevens, Messier, Francis in 08, plus Hull and Larionov (plus whoever else retires after this season) in 09.

Wouldn't it be 2007 for those guys? They didn't play in 2004, 2005 or 2006. The rule is three years, not three seasons. Larionov retired in April '04, I believe. So he'd be eligible with the foursome as well. No? It seems like if Hull didn't play the five games this year, he'd be eligibile with the foursome.

Those that retired after the 03-04 season are 2008 eligible.

Theres also a maximum of four inductees per year, which is why Larionov will be bumped to 2009.

I just spoke with Paul Grant, TSN's managing editor. He realized the same problem. After checking with the HOF, the foursome will be eligible in '07. Hull will be '08.
