Just for the sake of conversation, if Wells ankle was to keep him out for 3 months or so, would/should we consider bringing Edge back?

I thought the same thing but I don't think you do. While he can help you on the field it wouldn't be worth the risk in the locker room. This is Whiz's team and having a lame duck there would threaten that. Seems Dockett & Q are going to tow the line - no reason to rock the boat.

Anything is possible, I am sure the right money and Edge would dig that jersey out of the land fill. But here is something to munch on. Nobody seems to be knocking the door down trying to bring the dude into their camp. Can you say Shawn Alexander, last yar he only got signed by the redskins after they were injury struck. That is where I see Edge being now.

out 3 months with a sprained ankle  . it's not Tom Knight/ Eric Green we're talking about here. But to answer the question, no.

Ouch my ankles!

I asked this in another thread, but didn't get an answer. Does anyone really know how this type of injury works? Will his ankles continue to be an issue over his career or will they finally heal and be near 100% at any point in time? Or will they get weaker over time and continue to be a thorn in his overall game and health?

It wouldn't be cool to know it's all downhill from here, especially with other teams banging away at him and his Achilles heel. Wasn't this part of the reason he fell a bit further down into the draft?

Let us not get crazy... Beanie's injury is not believed to be serious, they are keeping him out of contact for a few practices proactively, so as not to inflame the situation as it were. Here is a man who is in the best shape of his life; I'm sure he's busting a gut not being able to get out there...We will see

That boat has sailed! Why even bring it up? Whisenhunt looks forward, not back.

For the sake of conversation. Say what you want, but Edge played his ass off in the playoff run. Personally, it wouldn't bother me if he re-signed with us. Obviously it would not be my first choice. That being said we really don't know alll the dynamics of what went on off the field when the cameras were off.

I did see Whiz congratulate Edge after the NFC Championship game and he said, " You could have left all the stuff that happen this season bother you, but you didn't. I am proud of you." I don't believe the "bad blood" was as bad as all the speculation around it was. Edge believed he could still be the man and the coaching staff believed he had lost a step. It's hard for an athlete to accept or see that. Throughout all of it we heard Hightower mention many times how much Edge was helping him.

I think Whiz turned to Hightower because our running game wasn't going to get any better with Edge and it needed a spark. Hightower also needed the reps in live action to "learn" how to run in the NFL. We will reap the benefit of that decision this year.

Let's face it. Edge came here for the money. I don't believe he bled Cardinal red. However, he did play hard when he played.

Fair enough I suppose. It's just that imo, there is a better chance the Cardinals bring in Michael Vick than bring Edge back. Neither of which is going to happen!

But don't misunderstand, I appreciate James and what he did for the Cardinals as much as anyone does. James was consistently professional during his time with the Cardinals, and I believe that at the time he was probably as good of an option as there was for the Cardinals.

It is just that James no longer wanted to be here! Considering what happened to his girlfriend and mother of his children and the statements made by James, he just may be done with football altogether at this point in his life.

I am thankful for the time that Edge was a Cardinal, but I believe it's time to move on, for both the Cardinals and for James. He won't be back.
