Completely off the wall and probably a faux pas somewhere in the new CBA but...
What's to stop the suns from waiving Marion for luxury tax purposes under the new stipulation, then resigning him afterwards? Of course, this assumes that he'll clear waivers, which is probably a 50/50 chance given his high salary. As far as I can tell it's possible. Marion still gets paid his, but the team gets uber relief from luxury tax implications
I'm not suggesting the suns would do this but really, it could be the answer to their possible luxury tax woes.
