I have been posting during games since I joined so during the 2003 season. Every year, even during the 100+ loss season the other that posted then were not bringing a negativity, but now in the recent few weeks there are a few new members and a couple of older member who are bringing so much negativity that I can no longer stand it. This team was supposed to finish in last place in the division according to all the experts and we are still in it. I am not sure what some of you are expecting from this team. I am having a blast watching them this year and if we do not win another game I will be proud of how long they have kept themselves in the race. I know I am not alone in this since there are some that I use to post with in 03 that are still very active memebers of this board, but do not post much in here anymore and never do during games anymore.

That is all I have.

Sorry, I have to add one note, I know there are good times to criticize, but constant bashing is different.

I heard more than one "baseball analyst" pick the D-Backs for the NL or Wild Card. That was when we had decent pitching 'on paper'.

Overall, I understand the sentiment. Negativity is not appealing for the most part, and can be rather discouraging. I love watching this team. I do get frustrated at the lack of production at times, but those moments are balanced out with the sweet surprises that have occurred. This is an exciting time to be a D-Backs fan - similar to the 2000 season just after we aquired Schilling. Yeah, we missed the post-season, but we could see the potential. I don't believe that we will win the WS next year, but if we could get another solid pitcher... we already have the defense and hitting, just working on consistancy right now. We have several good years ahead of us.

Don't stop posting in this forum - there are too few that do it now.

If you are bothered with certain people's attitudes then call them out on it. We need all the people we can get for this forum, so don't leave.

The Diamondbacks are only one game out of the wild card, you can't bail out. Just try and ignore those that are being negative. I was going to respond to ArizonaSportsFan negativity last night, but I decided not to. Most of the people on this board are die-hard fans it's only natural to vent some frustrations once in a while, I am guilty of this, but to constantly post negative stuff is very irritating.

The next 6 weeks will be exciting so don't let a few people ruin it for you.

We could try what a Communications professor once suggested -- three positives for each negative.

Saying that Gonzo is struggling/shouldn't get this much game time or that the team was having a terrible offensive game last night is "too negative"? I don't get these kinds of posts. No one was/is attacking you personally, as far as I know. Not even really attacking the team. I am relatively new to this board so perhaps you are talking about me. If my comments have affected you personally, I apologize. I think that you focused on just a few posts in the thread if this is the case. It is called being a fan - wanting the best for the team and dreaming/making up ways for that to happen. Sometimes perceptions (mine included) are a little off and folks soon return to center, but no reason to throw the baby out with the bath water, so to speak.

And I appreciate your support of Gonzo - heaven knows he needs it ;) .

Edit: I was indeed too negative as I reviewed my posts from last nights game. I should have posted less frequently when outside of the dialogue with phxchris. Since I watch the game in a different room and it was late at night, I would hit the boards every half inning. Sorry for my spam.

Thanks for understanding. This was one game and I DID vent too strongly, after review. I apologize for offending anyone. I don't curse or target posters in my posts and I generally try to stay out of arguments because I want people to post freely. It is much better that way.

Don't stop posting. I stay optomistic. It's just kind of frustrating being out of the playoffs for the last few years and not taking advantage of the chances they have gotten in the last two years. I love this D-Backs team though.
