I am so Effing sick of these networks canceling shows so quickly!! It is ridiculous how fast it happens especially when the show is original and a good story. The show I am specifically talking about is Life on Mars.

This show was so original and done really well that it was cancelled so quickly is ridiculous. If they would have looked at the original 90210 after its first season it would have been cancelled today. Instead it went on to a long long successful run.

Different networks I guess. CW seems to be willing to give their show more time to catch on. I don't watch 90210 but in the beginning Supernatural struggled, so did One Tree (I enjoy both these shows) but the CW stuck with them and we were offered more than a token season of each.

Life on Mars is great and I was shocked when the previews talked about a SERIES finale last week. ABC seems to be trying to keep up with cancel happy NBC. I can't believe they were able to gage the shows following so quickly

I'm with you, cancelling Journeyman(1 season) last year was stupid for NBC and now I hear Chuck(2 seasons) won't be back.

You didn't hear this from me, but the rumor is probably true. I know, at the very least, it's on shaky ground.

Chuck is suffering from Heroes' lack of growth. So NBC is blaming Chuck for not providing a better feed audience, when in reality Heroes can't compete with CSI or Dancing with the Stars or whatever else it goes up against.

Chuck would be MUCH better as a 9pm show reengineered for a slightly older audience. It's too cute as a 7pm show. They're limited in content.

It's a cutthroat business... My uncle is a grip and just churns through sitcoms and TV shows. He got his first start on the TV show "Dinosaurs" and a long term gig to them is 3-4 seasons

Put Yvonne Strahovski in her underwear atleast once a week and I would tune in.

That's my 2 cents.

That is a damn shame, because this is a really fun show. It far exceeded my expectations.

Oh, and Journeyman was cut probably because it sucked major goat testes. I'm a fan of Kevin McKidd from Rome, but the Journeyman sucked.

Journeyman had OK ratings, it just couldn't find a money demographic and it was never going to beat the biggies on Wednesday night.

If I were running NBC, I would start stacking Wednesday night with young shows like Life and Chuck and start building an audience for 2011 when ABC doesn't have Lost.

I'm sick of a "new" season having every other week be a repeat of a previous season's episode.

Yeah, that kind of irks me too. I think it's kind of a way to extend the season instead of blowing their load all at once with consecutive new episodes

If Life is Mars' ratings weren't good following Lost, then there was NO hope in hell for that show. That's just a hard fact.

With that cast, that show probably was extremely expensive to produce, that's why the put it after Lost, after all. But if they can't cover the huge costs even with it after Lost, there was no chance.

Michael Imperioli's mustache was the 4th highest paid on the show!

I hear you. I'll never watch the first season of a non-HBO show ever again. If a show survives a first season and looks interesting to me I'll grab the DVDs and catchup.

Life on mars was one of my favorite shows of all time. I dont see how they could have kept it going after the last episode anyway. they summed everything up and made it all make sence. Theres no way they could have kept it going where he would still be a cop in 1973.

Yea but I don't think they would have went there yet if they knew they weren't being cancelled.

I'm the same now. I got tired of getting into network shows only to have them canceled after one season (some don't even make it a full season!)
