I won't be able to watch tonight's game as I have to work late. Same thing happened last year with the game against St Louis on Thursday. It's not just the time and day it's broadcasted, but also I don't get the same joy and excitement I would get from a MNF game. Only advantage I see is I have a Sunday to spend with the family and get things done around the house.

Perhaps I'm in the minority, but quite frankly I'm not jumping for joy that we're playing tonight.

I don't like games played at any other time than Sunday afternoon at 1pm or 4pm EST personally.

If there has to be another time, then I like Sunday night.

But if it is not the Cardinals ? I usually don't watch Sunday night, Monday, or Thursday night football, unless for 15 minutes before I go to bed.

All three spots dictate getting to bed late, and it is not worth it.

The worst of the worst ? The BS late Monday night game that starts at 10pm EST or something crazy like that.

Staying up till 2am just to watch the Cardinals ? I do it, but I am never happy about it.

haha. I feel the same way. Don't like it at all. Need a bigger window to get over the disappointment caused by the Cardinals before it is time to go to bed.

I both love and hate the Thursday night game. I think I hate it more though. My wife lets me watch all the sports I want but I always feel like I'm taking away from "our time" when I watch an NFL game at any time other than the Sunday day games. I already lose a lot of evenings to College basketball and the NBA so I don't really need the NFL adding to the problem. OTOH, there is a part of me that says bring it on - there is no such thing as too much pro football.

im excited for it and it does free up sunday for me to go 4 wheelin!!!

I dont like it in general as its too soon for the teams to play but we only do it once a year so it frees up two sundays during football instead of just one which is cool.

530-830 game isnt bad, if I was going it would keep me up late but ill be home and will still go lay down by 9. No big.

I'd like to see the NFL expand the first weekend games.

In additon to the Thursday night opener featuring the Super Bowl winner, how about a Friday or Saturday night game with the Super Bowl runner-up? There's no issue with a short week and it gives that team an extra day or two to prepare for their week two game as well as sharing the spotlight and recognizing their achievement of the previous season.

this is something I wholeheartedly agree with you on TJ. Not a fan of Thursday nights. Sunday's are like a holy day for me with football and without the Cards, it just ain't the same.

plus, these thursday night games are usually pretty bad football.

Thursday night games suck ........ the quality of play is bad, the start time is bad, makes pools/fantasy football a little more tricky ....... I rarely watch any of the Thursday game anymore .... check in on occasion, see that it's awful and keep on moving

I moved to Louisiana...so at least I get to see a whole game rather than watching on RedZone....but it starts at 8pm here..or 7pm..forget...and I have to be up at 3am to go to work tomorrow....which mightily suxx......

I was soooo hoping for a win against SF last week...would have made this game HUGE!!

but now it aint...ho hum.....

Yep... Football and Sunday should be a holy combination, never to be messed with... With the exception of course being Monday Nights.

Plus, I despise the NFL Network and it's coverage of the games. They suck.

I generally love all pro football regardless of when it's played. However Monday and Thursday games break up the monotony of my work week--its like having a mini-weekend. Love Thursday night football.

Love em! Prefer them when we aren't playing. But waiting 6 days for NFL football just too damn long!

Hate when the Cards have them at home. Driving out there from work is such a pain. Not to mention trying to figure out what to do with the kids.

Luckily my wife volunteered to stay home and let me take my friends to the game. So I'm not minding this one as much.
