Here is my updated version of the 2006 NFL Draft. There are no projected trades.
2006 NFL Mock Draft
1. Houston Texans-Reggie Bush//USC
The Texans should really look to improve their offensive line by trading down and drafting D’Brickashaw Ferguson but New Orleans is in a position to draft him. With the first pick, they should opt to draft Reggie Bush unless they have a backup plan just in case New Orleans drafts Ferguson. PMR=85
2. New Orleans Saints-D’Brickashaw Ferguson//Virginia
The Saints shook up the draft board when they signed Drew Brees. Most anticipated this team to draft Matt Leinart but with this change in roster, the Saints no longer need Leinart. Wayne Gandy is the current starting left tackle and he is 35. Drafting D’Brickashaw would give the Saints a replacement for Gandy, stability at both offensive tackle spots for years to come, and a franchise tackle to go along with a franchise quarterback. PMR=84
3. Tennessee Titans-Matt Leinart//USC
As stated above, the Saints shook up the draft board. It seemed the Titans would have selected Vince Young or Jay Cutler if Matt Leinart was selected but here he is available at the third pick. Leinart was a pupil of Titans Offensive Coordinator Norm Chow back at USC and they get the improbable chance to reunite in the pros. PMR=83
4. New York Jets-Mario Williams//North Carolina State
Many Jets fans may argue against this pick but it would provide the Jets with a lot of value. The common misconception here is that Williams isn’t a fit for the 3-4. Defensive ends in the 3-4 are generally 300 pounds. Williams is 6’7, 295 pounds. To go along with that huge frame, he has awesome athleticism that is often compared to Julius Peppers. With the departure of John Abraham, Williams can help fill the void along with Kemo von Oelhoffen. PMR=84
5. Green Bay Packers-A.J. Hawk//Ohio State
This is an obvious pick. The Packers have a lot of interest in bringing in new starters at both outside linebacker positions. Hawk is the best outside linebacker in this year’s draft. He will combine with Nick Barnett to form a deadly linebacker duo. PMR=83
6. San Francisco 49ers-Vernon Davis//Maryland
Alex Smith is an up-and-coming prospect. The best way to help young quarterbacks develop is to surround them with weapons. There are no wide receivers worthy of a top ten pick so the Niners should opt to select Davis. The tight end from Maryland possesses eye-popping athleticism and will provide Smith with a deceptive deep threat as well as a safety valve in the passing game. PMR=83
7. Oakland Raiders-Vince Young//Texas
The Raiders recently signed Aaron Brooks but look for them to draft Vince Young anyways. Al Davis loves athletic specimens such as Young so this seems like a good fit. The plan could be for Young to learn under Brooks for one or two years and if Brooks struggles, the Raiders can give the reins to Young. PMR=79
8. Buffalo Bills-Haloti Ngata//Oregon
The Bills have lost both starting defensive tackles from two years back. They should try to replace them and there is no one better for the job than Ngata. The defensive tackle from Oregon can team up with under tackle Larry Triplett to help stop the run and open up holes for the linebackers. If Ngata works hard enough, he can be an all-pro some day. PMR=82
9. Detroit Lions-Winston Justice//USC
Starting right tackle Kelly Butler is adequate but the Lions can really improve with the selection of Justice. The Lions have not drafted an offensive lineman in the first day for several years and they really need to change that. With the addition of new quarterbacks, Justice will provide plenty of pass protection from the right side. PMR=80
10. Arizona Cardinals-Michael Huff//Texas
Under head coach Dennis Green; the Cardinals have had some really solid drafts. Probably the two biggest needs at this point for the Cardinals are free safety and tight end. Robert Griffith was inconsistent last year and is bound to retire. Huff can provide the Cardinals with the same impact Roy Williams gave to the Cowboys in his rookie year. This would make for a deadly secondary in the future. PMR=82
11. St. Louis Rams-Tye Hill//Clemson
The Rams have adequate cornerbacks but they lack a true cover guy that could potentially take out an opposing team’s number one receiver. With that said, Hill is arguably the top cover corner in this draft and has raised his stock with a great combine. With this pick, the Rams will continue shoring up their defense. PMR=80
12. Cleveland Browns-Broderick Bunkley//Florida State
This is rumored to be a likely pick so if a team wants Bunkley, they would have to trade up ahead of the Browns for him. Bunkley will be a converted defensive end in Crennel’s 3-4. He will provide the Browns with good penetration and should take double teams to free up the linebackers. PMR=80
13. Baltimore Ravens-Jimmy Williams//Virginia Tech
Williams’ stock is a little unknown right now but he is still a very talented defensive prospect. The Ravens could either play him at nickel back or free safety but with a hole at the safety position, he is more likely to play there. This pick can be a boom or bust for the Ravens. PMR=81
14. Philadelphia Eagles-Marcus McNeil//Auburn
The Eagles do not have a lot of holes to fill. They just resigned Jon Runyan but he won't play forever. McNeil will be able to learn at the pro level for one or two years before being the full time starter. If either tackle gets injured, McNeil will be NFL ready to step right in and fill the void. PMR=80
15. Denver Broncos (from ATL)-Chad Jackson//Florida
The Broncos got themselves in a very good position by switching from the 29th pick to the 15th. Rod Smith is growing older so they should find an eventual replacement. Jackson displayed top-notch speed at the combine but it is unknown how he would fare on deep routes because he didn’t run a lot playing at Florida. PMR=81
16. Miami Dolphins-Manny Lawson//North Carolina State
Lawson would play as the outside linebacker in the 3-4 defense. He has great speed for his size so he would make a perfect fit for the Dolphins. Junior Seau does not have a contract with the Dolphins right now so this could fill a void if he doesn't return. PMR=80
17. Minnesota Vikings-Jay Cutler//Vanderbilt
A similar situation like the one Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers encountered a couple years ago could happen here with the Vikings and Cutler. If Cutler is passed by Oakland, Detroit, and Arizona, he could free fall all the way down to the Vikings. It is rumored that the Vikings could trade up to insure they get him but there aren’t a lot of teams in need of a quarterback right now. Look for Cutler to learn under Brad Johnson for one year until he is experienced enough to handle the job. PMR=79
18. Dallas Cowboys-Chad Greenway//Iowa
It is difficult to project what the Cowboys will draft but we know Bill Parcells will draft defense like always. With that said, Greenway will linebacker for the team. The Cowboys just lost Dat Nguyen so Greenway's production as a rookie will help this team out. PMR=81.
19. San Diego Chargers-Santonio Holmes//Ohio State
This is another pick that home team fans could argue against. The Chargers lack a true number one receiver and Keenan McCardell could be on the decline soon. Holmes is another hybrid wide receiver that does a lot of the little things to succeed. This would give the Chargers a more potent offense and new starter Phillip Rivers another weapon. PMR=81
20. Kansas City Chiefs-Tamba Hali//Penn State
This is a selection of BPA and one that could give the Chiefs an instant impact. The current starters at defensive end are Jared Allen and Eric Hicks who provide the Chiefs with good defensive players. Hali could spell either one in a good three defensive end rotation. PMR=80
21. New England Patriots-LenDale White//USC
This may not be a big need right now but it’s a BPA selection. Dillon is living up to expectations but he is in his thirties. Most running backs experience a decline in production in the thirties so it would be wise for the Patriots to draft a replacement that could be groomed under Dillon. This could be similar to the Chiefs situation with Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson. PMR=82
22. Denver Broncos (from WAS)-Mathias Kiwanuka//Boston College
The Broncos could look to continually improve along the defensive line with the pick. Kiwanuka’s stock has dropped a bit but it doesn’t cancel out his productivity as a senior. He could push the starters for playing time and like Tamba Hali, provide his team with a good defensive end rotation. PMR=79
23. Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Ashton Youboty//Ohio State
The Buccaneers have great starters in Brian Kelly and Ronde Barber but they have very little depth behind them. Youboty would provide this team with a great nickel back who could eventually earn a starting spot. This is another BPA selection. PMR=81
24. Cincinnati Bengals-Darnell Bing//USC
The Bengals missed out on the player they wanted a couple picks earlier in Brodrick Bunkley. They still get a good player who could turn out to be the best at his position in 3-4 years. Although they signed Dexter Jackson, Bing will be the future starter and will provide Williams with a quality strong safety to play alongside. PMR=80
25. New York Giants-Bobby Carpenter//Ohio State
Carpenter’s dad played for the Giants so this seems like a good fit. The Giants have major needs at linebacker and Carpenter is ranked as the third or fourth best outside linebacker in a deep draft. Look for the Giants to draft at least one more linebacker some time in the draft. PMR=80
26. Chicago Bears-Antonio Cromartie//Florida State
The Bears have a stellar defense but their offense is still lacking production. They have several playmakers coming back from injuries such as Orton and Benson so look for this unit to improve next season. The tight end crop is somewhat deep so look for them draft one in the first day. Cromartie went absolutely nuts at his pro day running in the 4.3 range. He will fill in probably the biggest hole on the defensive side of the ball. PMR=80
27. Carolina Panthers-Leonard Pope//Georgia
A world of wonders could be achieved on the offensive side of the ball if the Panthers are able to draft a game changing tight end. Pope would provide the Panthers with a huge red zone threat and could take some of the load off Steve Smith. Pope also has the upside to be a good run blocker. PMR=81
28. Jacksonville Jaguars-Demeco Ryans//Alabama
The Jaguars lost Akin Ayondele via free agency so they could be in the market for a replacement. Ryans was a very productive linebacker at Alabama and some could argue he is a better prospect than Bobby Carpenter. He would be a starter for the Jaguars defense and could solve questions along the outside linebacker position. PMR=81
29. New York Jets (from ATL via DEN)-DeAngelo Willams//Memphis
If Williams fell this far to the Jets, they should draft him in a heartbeat. Running back is not a critical need right now but the Jets should draft a replacement once Curtis Martin’s production starts declining. This is another BPA selection and could potentially be the steal of the draft. Williams fell because not a lot of teams are in the market for a starting running back. PMR=81
30. Indianapolis Colts-Laurence Maroney//Minnesota
Like DeAngelo Williams, Maroney fell due to a low demand for starting running backs. His loss is the Colts gain as they are able to draft a running back worth the value of a first round pick to replace Edgerrin James. Maroney plays with some similarities to James so this could be a good fit. PMR=80
31. Seattle Seahawks-Sinorice Moss//Miami
The Seahawks lack a number two receiver to play opposite of Darrel Jackson so look for them to draft one on day one. The Seahawks could also opt to draft an offensive guard to replace Steve Hutchinson so Max Jean-Giles would get some consideration here. Moss is a hybrid wide receiver like Steve Smith and his brother Santana so he could play a big role in the Seahawks offense. PMR=79
32. Pittsburgh Steelers-Ko Simpson//South Carolina
The Steelers missed out on two first round running backs so drafting one here would be a reach. The Steelers lost Chris Hope though free agency and have signed Ryan Clark to compensate for it. Simpson is a better prospect who should compete with Clark for the starting spot. PMR=79
Second Round
33. Houston Texans-Eric Winston//Miami
The Texans should really focus on improving the offensive line. Winston is a good start. PMR=79
34. New Orleans Saints-D’Qwell Jackson//Maryland
D’Qwell would give the Saints an impact linebacker to compete for the starting job. PMR=79
35. New York Jets-Max Jean-Giles//Georgia
The Jets are in the market for interior lineman and MJG is the top ranked player. PMR=81
36. Green Bay Packers-Nick Mangold//Ohio State
Like the Jets, the Packers are in the market for interior lineman. Mangold is the top ranked center. PMR=79
37. San Francisco 49ers-Jason Allen//Tennessee
The 49ers have question marks everywhere along the secondary so Allen’s versatility would be a huge plus for the team. PMR=78
38. Oakland Raiders-Ernie Sims//Florida State
The Raiders need an impact linebacker to play alongside Kirk Morrison and Danny Clark. PMR=80
39. Tennessee Titans-Abdul Hodge//Iowa
The Titans recently signed David Thornton so adding an MLB would make sense. Hodge would round out the linebacking corps. PMR=77
40. Detroit Lions-Omar Jacobs//Bowling Green
Lions fans may disagree with this pick but until Joey Harrington started complaining, the Lions were heading in the direction of depth at quarterback with three possible starters. Jacobs could be a working project that will start someday for the Lions. PMR=76
41. Arizona Cardinals-Marcedes Lewis//UCLA
Lewis is a game changing tight end that could command a double team in the passing game. He would be the icing on the cake for a great offense. PMR=80
42. Buffalo Bills-Andrew Whitworth//LSU
Whitworth will push for time and would most likely start. PMR=77
43. Cleveland Browns-Kamerion Wimbley//Florida State
Wimbley offers versatility to the Browns and will push for playing time. Possibly at different spots. PMR=77
44. Baltimore Ravens-Jonathan Scott//Texas
This is a great value pick for the Ravens because they should really fix the right side of their line. PMR=79
45. Philadelphia Eagles-Maurice Stovall//Notre Dame
The Eagles just signed Jabar Gaffney but a third option would round out the departure of Terrel Owens. PMR=77
46. St. Louis Rams-Anthony Fasano//Notre Dame
Fasano will give the Rams a threat they’ve never had. He will play as a safety valve. His blocking skills are good for a prospect. PMR=77
47. Atlanta Falcons-Greg Eslinger//Minnesota
The Falcons could use competition along the offensive line. Eslinger would be a good fit for the Falcons because he is more fit to double team defensive lineman. PMR=77
48. Minnesota Vikings-Taitusi “Deuce” Lutui//USC
The Vikings have a wall on the left side of their offensive line with Bryant McKinnie, Steve Hutchinson, and Matt Birk. They can still improve at right guard so this would be a great pick for Minnesota. PMR=78
49. Dallas Cowboys-Donte Whitner//Ohio State
The Cowboys finally draft a centerpiece to play alongside Roy Williams. PMR=77
50. San Diego Chargers-Davin Joseph//Oklahoma
The Chargers can improve along the offensive line and Joseph would give this team good competition. PMR=78
51. Minnesota Vikings (from MIA)-Pat Watkins//Florida State
Corey Chavous has left the team so they could be in the market for a replacement. Watkins’ measurables could make him a potential red zone stopper. PMR=78
52. New England Patriots-Kai Parham//Virginia
His stock goes up because he has experience in the 3-4. The Patriots are in need of linebackers at this point. PMR=76
53. Washington Redskins-A.J. Nicholson//Florida State
Lavar Arrington won’t be back so finding a replacement will be key to keeping this defense stout. PMR=77
54. Kansas City Chiefs-Derek Hagan//Arizona State
The Chiefs wide receivers don't strike fear into the hearts of defensive backs. Hopefully Hagan can fix that. PMr=76
55. Cincinnati Bengals-Rodrique Wright//Texas
The Bengals are able to draft a potential run-stopper in Wright. He would really improve the play of this defense as an upgrade over the current starters. PMR=79
56. New York Giants-Jason Avant//Michigan
The Giants should continue to surround Eli Manning with weapons and Avant can be a good possession receiver in the pros. PMR=76
57. Chicago Bears-Dominique Byrd//USC
The Bears are able to draft a role-playing tight end that will provide a positive impact in the passing game and running back. PMR=77
58. Carolina Panthers-Greg Lee//Pittsburgh
The Panthers need a wide receiver opposite Steve Smith to lug in passes. With the additions of Pope and Lee, the Panthers could have a very potent offense. PMR=76
59. Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Demetrius Williams//Oregon
Like the Panthers, the Buccaneers need wide receiver depth. Williams will be the eventual number two options when Joey Galloway leaves. PMR=76
60. Jacksonville Jaguars-Kelly Jennings//Miami
Jennings is another top cover corner and with the addition of him and Brian Williams, the Jaguars can focus on other needs. PMR=76
61. Denver Broncos-Joe Klopfenstein//Colorado
The Broncos lost Jeb Putzier so drafting Klopfenstein would give them a replacement that could play right now. PMR=75
62. Indianapolis Colts-Gabe Watson//Michigan
Corey Simon was a great free agent pickup but there is little beyond him. Watson would provide a possible starter who could turn out to be above average to good as a pro. PMr=78
63. Seattle Seahawks-Bernard Pollard//Purdue
The Seahawks should draft a free safety just in case Ken Hamlin isn’t able to recover from his head injury. PMR=76
64. Pittsburgh Steelers-Martin Nance//Miami (Ohio)
This would reunite Nance with his college quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. It would also help fill the voids left by Plaxico Burress and Antwaan Randle El. PMr=76
Third Round
65. Houston Texans-Darryl Tapp//Virginia Tech
The Texans should draft more traditional defensive ends if they switch to the 4-3. Tapp provides great value. PMR=78
66. Houston Texans (from NO)-Fred Matua//USC
The Texans lost Milford Brown and he could have been upgraded anyways. PMR=77
67. Green Bay Packers-Mark Setterstrom//Minnesota
The Packers should continue to improve their interior line after they lost both starting guards last year. PMR=76
68. San Francisco 49ers-Danieal Manning//Abilene Christian
A sleeper that will provide depth in the secondary. PMR=75
69. Oakland Raiders-Greg Blue//Georgia
Blue plays the Raider’s style at a position of need. PMR=75
70. Buffalo Bills (from TEN)-Jonathan Joseph//South Carolina
He can push for playing time at cornerback. PMR=74
71. New York Jets-Jeremy Trueblood//Boston College
This team lost Jason Fabini and will need someone who could replace him. PMR=76
72. Arizona Cardinals-Kevin Boothe//Cornell
Boothe will provide the Cardinals with a versatility. He can play four positions along the line. PMR=77
73. Buffalo Bills-Jason Spitz//Louisville
The Bills may need to replace Tre Teague. PMR=75
74. Detroit Lions-Stanley McClover//Auburn
The Lions will possibly need a new starter at defensive end. PMR=75
75. New England Patriots (from BAL)-Richard Marshall//Fresno State
He could emerge as a solid starter for a team in need of corners. PMR=76
76. Philadelphia Eagles-Claude Wroten//LSU
He slipped a little but can provide depth and a possible impact for the Eagles. PMR=76
77. St. Louis Rams-Elvis Dumervil//Louisville
The Rams could draft Dumervil to spell the starters or push for playing time. PMR=76
78. Cleveland Browns-Roger "Rocky" McIntosh
He would play inside for the Browns in a 3-4. With this pick, the Browns continue improving their defense and linebacker corps. PMR=76
79. Atlanta Falcons-Daryn Colledge//Boise State
Kevin Shaffer left and Colledge is very underrated. PMR=76
80. Dallas Cowboys-Rob Sims//Ohio State
They just lost Larry Allen so they should find a possible replacement. PMR=75
81. San Diego Chargers-Anwar Phillips//Purdue
Phillips will provide depth at cornerback. PMR=74
82. Miami Dolphins-Brodie Croyle//Alabama
Even with Daunte Culpepper, it is imperative that the Dolphins draft a backup quarterback in case he in not fully recovered. PMR=75
83. Minnesota Vikings-Cedric Griffin//Texas
The Vikings should find depth at the cornerback position because they lost Brian Williams. PMR=74
84. San Francisco 49ers (from WAS)-Spencer Havner//UCLA
A linebacker that was very productive and played every position in UCLA. Will provide depth for a team that has holes at linebacker. He could possibly start to.
85. Kansas City Chiefs-Jonathan Lewis//Virginia Tech
The Chiefs need to beef up their defensive line. PMR=75
86. New England Patriots-Will Blackmon//Boston College
This player reminds me of Troy Brown because he can play a little cornerback and a little wide receiver. It will be interesting to see how the Patriots use him. PMR=74
87. New York Giants-Daniel Bullocks//Nebraska
It would be best if the Giants continue finding competition in the secondary. PMR=73
88. Chicago Bears-Jon Alston//Stanford
Was a pleasant surprise at the combine and will compete at strong side linebacker. PMR=73
89. Carolina Panthers-Travis Williams//Auburn
Linebacker has question marks if Thomas Davis plays safety. PMR=73
90. Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Orien Harris//Miami
He will provide depth and could be the future defensive tackle for Tampa Bay. PMR=76

Edwards can play a key role in the Bengals 4-3 defense. PMR=75

Under head coach Dennis Green; the Cardinals have had some really solid drafts. Probably the two biggest needs at this point for the Cardinals are free safety and tight end. Robert Griffith was inconsistent last year and is bound to retire. Huff can provide the Cardinals with the same impact Roy Williams gave to the Cowboys in his rookie year. This would make for a deadly secondary in the future. PMR=82
11. St. Louis Rams-Tye Hill//Clemson
The Rams have adequate cornerbacks but they lack a true cover guy that could potentially take out an opposing team’s number one receiver. With that said, Hill is arguably the top cover corner in this draft and has raised his stock with a great combine. With this pick, the Rams will continue shoring up their defense. PMR=80
12. Cleveland Browns-Broderick Bunkley//Florida State
This is rumored to be a likely pick so if a team wants Bunkley, they would have to trade up ahead of the Browns for him. Bunkley will be a converted defensive end in Crennel’s 3-4. He will provide the Browns with good penetration and should take double teams to free up the linebackers. PMR=80
13. Baltimore Ravens-Jimmy Williams//Virginia Tech
Williams’ stock is a little unknown right now but he is still a very talented defensive prospect. The Ravens could either play him at nickel back or free safety but with a hole at the safety position, he is more likely to play there. This pick can be a boom or bust for the Ravens. PMR=81
14. Philadelphia Eagles-Marcus McNeil//Auburn
The Eagles do not have a lot of holes to fill. They just resigned Jon Runyan but he won't play forever. McNeil will be able to learn at the pro level for one or two years before being the full time starter. If either tackle gets injured, McNeil will be NFL ready to step right in and fill the void. 15. Denver Broncos (from ATL)-Chad Jackson//Florida
The Broncos got themselves in a very good position by switching from the 29th pick to the 15th. Rod Smith is growing older so they should find an eventual replacement. Jackson displayed top-notch speed at the combine but it is unknown how he would fare on deep routes because he didn’t run a lot playing at Florida. PMR=81
16. Miami Dolphins-Manny Lawson//North Carolina State
Lawson would play as the outside linebacker in the 3-4 defense. He has great speed for his size so he would make a perfect fit for the Dolphins. Junior Seau does not have a contract with the Dolphins right now so this could fill a void if he doesn't return. PMR=80
17. Minnesota Vikings-Jay Cutler//Vanderbilt
A similar situation like the one Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers encountered a couple years ago could happen here with the Vikings and Cutler. If Cutler is passed by Oakland, Detroit, and Arizona, he could free fall all the way down to the Vikings. It is rumored that the Vikings could trade up to insure they get him but there aren’t a lot of teams in need of a quarterback right now. Look for Cutler to learn under Brad Johnson for one year until he is experienced enough to handle the job. PMR=79
18. Dallas Cowboys-Chad Greenway//Iowa
It is difficult to project what the Cowboys will draft but we know Bill Parcells will draft defense like always. With that said, Greenway will linebacker for the team. The Cowboys just lost Dat Nguyen so Greenway's production as a rookie will help this team out. PMR=81.
19. San Diego Chargers-Santonio Holmes//Ohio State
This is another pick that home team fans could argue against. The Chargers lack a true number one receiver and Keenan McCardell could be on the decline soon. Holmes is another hybrid wide receiver that does a lot of the little things to succeed. This would give the Chargers a more potent offense and new starter Phillip Rivers another weapon. PMR=81
20. Kansas City Chiefs-Tamba Hali//Penn State
This is a selection of BPA and one that could give the Chiefs an instant impact. The current starters at defensive end are Jared Allen and Eric Hicks who provide the Chiefs with good defensive players. Hali could spell either one in a good three defensive end rotation. PMR=80
21. New England Patriots-LenDale White//USC
This may not be a big need right now but it’s a BPA selection. Dillon is living up to expectations but he is in his thirties. Most running backs experience a decline in production in the thirties so it would be wise for the Patriots to draft a replacement that could be groomed under Dillon. This could be similar to the Chiefs situation with Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson. PMR=82
22. Denver Broncos (from WAS)-Mathias Kiwanuka//Boston College
The Broncos could look to continually improve along the defensive line with the pick. Kiwanuka’s stock has dropped a bit but it doesn’t cancel out his productivity as a senior. He could push the starters for playing time and like Tamba Hali, provide his team with a good defensive end rotation. PMR=79
23. Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Ashton Youboty//Ohio State
The Buccaneers have great starters in Brian Kelly and Ronde Barber but they have very little depth behind them. Youboty would provide this team with a great nickel back who could eventually earn a starting spot. This is another BPA selection. PMR=81
24. Cincinnati Bengals-Darnell Bing//USC
The Bengals missed out on the player they wanted a couple picks earlier in Brodrick Bunkley. They still get a good player who could turn out to be the best at his position in 3-4 years. Although they signed Dexter Jackson, Bing will be the future starter and will provide Williams with a quality strong safety to play alongside. PMR=80
25. New York Giants-Bobby Carpenter//Ohio State
Carpenter’s dad played for the Giants so this seems like a good fit. The Giants have major needs at linebacker and Carpenter is ranked as the third or fourth best outside linebacker in a deep draft. Look for the Giants to draft at least one more linebacker some time in the draft. PMR=80
26. Chicago Bears-Antonio Cromartie//Florida State
The Bears have a stellar defense but their offense is still lacking production. They have several playmakers coming back from injuries such as Orton and Benson so look for this unit to improve next season. The tight end crop is somewhat deep so look for them draft one in the first day. Cromartie went absolutely nuts at his pro day running in the 4.3 range. He will fill in probably the biggest hole on the defensive side of the ball. PMR=80
27. Carolina Panthers-Leonard Pope//Georgia
A world of wonders could be achieved on the offensive side of the ball if the Panthers are able to draft a game changing tight end. Pope would provide the Panthers with a huge red zone threat and could take some of the load off Steve Smith. Pope also has the upside to be a good run blocker. PMR=81
28. Jacksonville Jaguars-Demeco Ryans//Alabama
The Jaguars lost Akin Ayondele via free agency so they could be in the market for a replacement. Ryans was a very productive linebacker at Alabama and some could argue he is a better prospect than Bobby Carpenter. He would be a starter for the Jaguars defense and could solve questions along the outside linebacker position. PMR=81
29. New York Jets (from ATL via DEN)-DeAngelo Willams//Memphis
If Williams fell this far to the Jets, they should draft him in a heartbeat. Running back is not a critical need right now but the Jets should draft a replacement once Curtis Martin’s production starts declining. This is another BPA selection and could potentially be the steal of the draft. Williams fell because not a lot of teams are in the market for a starting running back. PMR=81
30. Indianapolis Colts-Laurence Maroney//Minnesota
Like DeAngelo Williams, Maroney fell due to a low demand for starting running backs. His loss is the Colts gain as they are able to draft a running back worth the value of a first round pick to replace Edgerrin James. Maroney plays with some similarities to James so this could be a good fit. PMR=80
31. Seattle Seahawks-Sinorice Moss//Miami
The Seahawks lack a number two receiver to play opposite of Darrel Jackson so look for them to draft one on day one. The Seahawks could also opt to draft an offensive guard to replace Steve Hutchinson so Max Jean-Giles would get some consideration here. Moss is a hybrid wide receiver like Steve Smith and his brother Santana so he could play a big role in the Seahawks offense. PMR=79
32. Pittsburgh Steelers-Ko Simpson//South Carolina
The Steelers missed out on two first round running backs so drafting one here would be a reach. The Steelers lost Chris Hope though free agency and have signed Ryan Clark to compensate for it. Simpson is a better prospect who should compete with Clark for the starting spot. PMR=79
