Long time Phoenician!
No one was a bigger Bob Brenly fan than I, even before he replaced Buck Showalter. But I've seen some quotes about BB lately that are very disturbing!
If Bob Brenly doesn't have the skill, or the respect, to guide his team, what's he doing in the Manager's chair? He's not a "preacher", he's supposed to be the leader.
"But NOBODY is doing it."??? Who's in charge here?
And so, my question. Is he a bystander -- noticing things as a fan would, while watching TV? He's supposed to be picking up on problems while in the dugout, doing his job! Then doing something about it.
Again, who's in charge here?
These quotes seem to make a hellofa point. That, despite our Cinderella year, Bob Brenly may not be the complete Manager to (a) pick his staff or (b) mold the team in the long run.

It bothers me to be so brutal in these comments.
But there is a problem with our hitting . . . therefore, there must be a cause.
If the D'backs are going to do their best, someone is going to have to recognize it, and do something about it! So far, it hasn't been BB!
He has said on radio over and over that he has preached patience -- to be aggressive -- when you see a pitch you CAN hit, not one you "want" to hit, and so be patient and selective. But NOBODY is doing it.

Brenly also said the 2 games he was suspended and watched on TV, he was screaming at all the first pitch hacking just like the fans. Alas - that experience didn't translate into anything useful.
