I am forever going to bury the past.

The Cardinals are a bonifide NFL Franchise. They operate with a plan and if that plan doesn't come to fruition, then a solid plan B is ready to go.

As a Cardinal fan, we have become conditioned to the "sky is falling" frame of mind. No more. In the past we would lose a player and management seemed to take an "oh well" approach. We would be more than happy to plug in some cast off or undrafted free agent.

Not all decisions pan out. Joey Porter and Derek Anderson could fall far short of our hopes and expectations. But there mere fact that we made these moves proves to me, once and for all, this is now how our Cardinals and management act. Probably the biggest indication of the mindset of this organization is the trade to get Rhodes. You have to believe this deal was talked about long before Rolle left town.......plan B.

See, I can live with a wrong decision. I just couldn't stand the days where the best decision was no decision at all.

Good job, Michael, Rod and Whiz! Good Job.

It's amazing - typically I start the year with a clamor of SUPERBOWL, because delusions are easier to handle than the truth that we would be lucky to get to a .500 record.

Now I get to sit back and actually enjoy the team - I have no idea what they will do (in a good way), the field good athletes and are well coached. We even play well in the playoffs - so I won't have to feel like a Bills fan or Chiefs fan.

Life is good.

With Whis playing a more influential role than Tobin did back in the day, talent will be replaced with talent. The philosophies have changed. The field general actually
gets to pick who he leads. Plus, M. Bidwill handling the money aspect makes it a
whole lot easier to get big ticket free
agents. I can assure you the Gatorade fridge at the practice facility is no longer locked on Tuesday and players aren't forced to buy their own cleats any longer

Since FA has begun we've upgraded the OL (Hadnot) OLB (Porter) and maybe even FS (Rhodes). QB has been a downgrade due to retirement (Warner) and ILB is a downgrade (Lenon for Dansby). I must wholeheartedly agree, times HAVE changed. By the way TJ, who is the 6th addition in your sig???? Who am I missing: Rhodes, Hadnot, Lenon, Anderson, Porter, ??????

Baggs, the OLB from Canadian FB league.

I'm w/ya SLAN....

Fear & anxiety have been replaced w/ a quiet confidence, and man does it feel GREAT! :) Seems like every time I turn on NFL Network I'm hearing props about our coaching staff and the direction the team is going. I'm filled w/ a sense of HOPE! ...And it's NOT false hope built on wishing and holding tight to a rabbit's foot. ALL I've ever asked of my teams (CARDS in football & baseball, BLUES in hockey, and HAWKEYES in college) is: COMPETE!!! Give me a reason to get excited about the season! I like what I see! GO CARDS! :D

Well put slanidrac16. I really never thought I would see this day while the Bidwill's still owned the Cards. But I must say I am one happy camper.

I am in complete agreement. We have replaced or are replacing all our departures this offseason. With the draft we should be able to get great value talent where we are thin. A Qb retires, we have one in waiting(Matt)and add a seasoned Vet to go with him. We have a plan to replace a top saftey with another top saftey that doesn't break the bank. We still need Mcfadden replaced but may have his replacemnt in Toler. We have added to the OLINE to transition to a "run to setup the pass" offense. Now if we could Extend DD and get a stretch the field 4th Wr for 4 widout sets we are still in the top 4 of the NFC. Obviously Matt has to step up but I feel he is ready to. This is truly a well built group top to bottem. Whis has the makings of a great longterm coach. He consistantly makes great moves and has well thought out plans. I am very impressed.

Since I don't live in Vegas, I have very few close friends who are Cardinals fans, but those I do have were panicked that this was just like '98 all over again. I really never believed them, and told them that there would be additions to temper the pain of the losses, and boy was I right. This has been a pretty solid offseason given what we were expected to lose, and the barriers created by the "Top 8" rule.

But what the greatest thing about this is, we've finally got a real NFL franchise. For years we were under talented, cheap, and a whipping boy for the rest of the league. But it finally seems that we've escaped that mire. Sure, down the road, we'll have some losing seasons, and we'll have some rebuilding years. But I think we'll take this momentum and never look back. The Cardinals are here to stay, and I couldn't be prouder.

In fact 1998 is the reason we are where we are now.. The vote and the success of that season all came to a head for all this to happen right now.. We had a great season beating the hated Cowboys.. It gave life to the Cards could be something.. The notion that there are better things out there if we could just have a level playing field.. We do now.. So this same ole 1998 business energy is directed in the wrong way.. I celebrate 1998 on two levels.. One, we went to the playoffs and beat the F'ing Cowboys.. Two, it gave people people hope to vote for this new stadium we have..

It aint the same no more.. I dont know how anyone doubted it.. I can honestly say I never did.. I even went into work with the AZ Republic page saying the prop passed .. And the day before went to the booth with my Cards jersey on with only one intention in my mind.. Passing the damn stadium vote..

its good to be a birdgang fan these days and we all know who was here through thick and thin although i welcome the new set of fans our superbowl run got us
1998 was the happiest year of my life football wise to this point seeing us have a bargain basement fire sale in 99' with no plan to progress from our losse's put us in another decade of funk that we all suffered through but knock on wood with whiz around we shouldn't have to suffer that indignity all over again

thank you whiz and grimm and john lott and michael bidwill and the rest of the staff and thank you new stadium revenue sure it made the bidwills wealthier but at least their is plenty of evidence of reinvestment in this team

and that does my 46 year old heart good
