However, watching free agency play out the Cards need to sacrifice draft picks and move up as high as they can. I don't see the option as they've let the potential free agent rushers go elsewhere! Fix the other needs with free agents.

They need to move up 10/15 spots

What are you giving up and who's taking your deal? Also, who are you moving up for?

I do not get it. I have been putting together my draft post, and there are some good prospects that are going to be available at #29.

I applaud the Cards for not over spending. You don't want an albatross of a contract on your hands. Let everyone else over pay.

Deforest Buckner is the only front seven defensive player I would move up for in this draft

Keim is the League master in free agency. Urgency, or not, he's earned our trust.

Totally agree with you. This is one of the best years that I have seen for quality DE/OLB's. We will get a good one with our pick at #29.

I agree---the Combine proved that the draft is deep in defensive linemen---so much so that the Cardinals could draft two very good defensive linemen with their first two picks---and there are still some very intriguing small school pass rushers in rounds 3-4.

But is there a pass rusher worth moving up for and the Cardinals did not let any free agent go elsewhere... they do it on their own :)

Rugby who? No clue how to find it on Instagram. I don't see the player at 29 who can make a difference. BTW I didn't say spending $13M on Irvin or Vernon was a good idea. Hayes might have been worth the money. I have great respect for Keim, but the truth is he's failed to get an effective pass rusher since John Abraham.

Harry---what players are you trading up to get?

I think one of the Clemson duo of Shaq Lawson or Kevin Dodd will be there at #29. Or just as good, imo, Shilique Calhoun of Michigan St.

The one guy I would trade up for isn't an OLB/DE, it's DT Sheldon Rankins...but it could be that he will crack the top 12.

Leonard Floyd is a string bean and Noah Spence is a potential head case. It's just not a good draft for speed rushers.

Harry there might be guys like Ogbah, Dodd, Lawson, Floyd or Jenkins available. But the problem we've got staring us in the face is relying on a rookie pass rusher & history hasn't been to kind to their production.

It's maddening that the Cards most glaring need will likely be the big elephant in the room once again...an inability to constantly rush the passer, which means more blitzing. :bang:

Bucky---I think the Cardinals HAVE to re-sign Dwight Freeney and sign a FA like Nick Perry. That should give them a little time to develop the younger rushers.

That would give them a 4 man edge rotation of Golden, Freeney, Perry and Okafor....plus two of the youngsters, which ever ones win roster spots.

Plus, the strength of this draft is at DT...which will allow the Cardinals to improve their inside pass rush.

I personally hope Dodd & Ogbah are there but we all know what has happened the last 2 years when we stay put Mitch.

We all have seen the last 2 days how teams cover edge rushers, so maybe it is time to move up & put the chips in the middle of the table. Jeez I'm so tired of having to have this same discussion every season. Guys like Marcus Golden don't alter games continuously or win games like the Von Millers, etc do!!! Just sayin

Totally agree on Freeney though I'm not high on Perry. How much would you think he's looking for?

I don't know what he's looking for---I read the Seahawks are showing interest in Perry as their replacement for Irvin, but they likely won't offer more than $4M a year. I really like his feet and his bend off the edge. He gave Veldheer fits in the playoff game.

I really like Shilique Calhoun---has the kind of motor and competitiveness that wins battles. Good length on him too.

Yes Perry had a serious playoff game & if he's available for $4 mil I guess it would be better than the alternative. Do you prefer him over Ayers?

Calhoun is a good player but I'd prefer Dodd over him all day. I think Dodd has just scratched the surface on his potential & has a little more jets in his legs.

We've had more than our fair share of first round busts...... It's time to figure out how to build a solid roster with diamonds in the rough.

Dodd is a late bloomer, while Calhoun's body of work is consistently impressive. To me, either one would be a good pick. They both are aggressive attack rushers.
