Bidwill needs to go full tilt and bring in Payton and his “all star” staff. Then no one can ever say he doesn’t care, and didn’t try to fix this mess. If it’s just a band aid to save money, it will just never happen with this family owning this team. Go full George Constanza and do the opposite of the last 100 years. Can’t hurt anymore more than it does now.

The best news about this clusterf-ck of a season is that it apparently created a motivation to do something in that ownership and front office. There’s been countless Bidwill family embarrassing scenarios and decisions over the years. But the family coffee boy/“general manager” not showing up for work for months then checking himself into rehab as the handpicked coach airs the business dirty laundry, while all being filmed by HBO in year they are hosting the Super Bowl is probably the lowest point in organization history. And we all know there have been a lotta lows.

I'm also expecting the Falcons to make us a packaged offer of their R1 in both 2023 and 2024, along with their R2 pick in 2023 in trade for both Murray and Hopkins, with Falcons assuming their salaries and Cards paying all bonuses and incentives due through their current contracts.

For the record I would shoot for Harbaugh before Payton. One I think he’s a better coach and two for the comedy of him emasculating Bidwill at every opportunity like he did Jed York.
I like Harbaugh. He would not cost us any draft picks like Payton will. Colts also really want Harbaugh and that was his team.

I'm just hoping maybe we can get Dave McGinnis back. I think that may be more feasible.

Bidwill can actually be labeled a winner without winning anything if he just hires Payton. Even if it does not work, nobody can then fault him. There is a good chance it can work if he hires him. Money can actually buy him ultimate redemption and respect if he hires Payton. Do it Mikey B, you will make more money than you would lose hiring him. Heck, hire Sean Payton and get new uniforms and you will be rolling in dough regardless of the outcome. Even a blindman should be able to run into this solution

I don't see Payton coming here. We may not be in his top 5. Who could blame him?

For the last (but not really, because a lot of posters refuse to learn), KM is untradeable in the offseason. He would accelerate his cap hit to something like 90 million bucks. Nagannahappen. Otherwise, I'd hold the door open to usher him out.

Not going to happen. First, Bidwill would have to fire GM who he just gave a multi-year extension. Then he’d have to fire the coach who just got a multi-year extension. Bidwill might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but he’s not totally clueless about his money. Under no circumstances will he pay former coach and GM to do nothing, then hire a high-salaries coach and position coaches, all of which will cost draft picks to locate here. Heck, I think I’ve just convinced myself that hiring Payton doesn’t make sense from a financial standpoint.

Totally agree. Whomever we hire has to accept the fact that Murray will be the qb (once healthy) for many years.

Keim fired himself. That’ll be a negotiated buyout. Kliff will be a bit more complicated but they’ll settle because again Kliff doesn’t want to coach here anymore.

Like the thread title "I hope" says, if Sean is indeed hired, "I hope, he's allowed to hire his own GM"? No way he's gonna work for AW or QH.
