he will get 10-15M next year

Maybe if the old CBA was still around but I'd be very surprised to see him get more than $10 million next year and even $10m is contingent on him balling out wherever he goes. He's not a starter, he won't shoot, and his defense isn't what it once was.

The Jazz waived Jalen Hood-Schifino after acquiring him from the Lakers. After being selected No. 17 overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, Hood-Schifino has only played 123 total minutes across two seasons.

The JO's of the world are 10M and less. Someone is dumb enough to pay this guy more than that.

Bojan Bogdanovic is viewed as a likely buyout candidate. After being included in the Mikal Bridges trade, Bogdanovic hasn’t played yet for the Nets this season after undergoing foot surgery last April.Bogdanovic’s shooting prowess would be a welcome addition for contenders

Quick note:We used the term "buyout" and "waiver" as almost independent things, but a buyout is a waiver.

A buyout just indicates that the player took a reduction in salary as part of getting the team to waive him.So, if you hear/read "An apron team can't sign a waived player who made more than $12.8M on his previous contract" it's the same as using buyout, or vice versa.

I totally missed that the Raptors traded for Ingram. If they extend Ingram, which I assume they will since they just gave up a 1st to get him, they are going to be deeply into the 2nd apron and... for what? They're horrible. A 16 win team and Barnes is the only player on the team that isn't doo doo or insanely overpaid.

There are a lot of really stupid teams in the NBA right now.

Two former lottery picks who could soon be hitting the buyout market: Cam Reddish and Johnny Davis. At this point, it’s very unlikely the Hornets or Grizzlies keep either around after their trade deadline transactions.
