I have not been around for a while, as I'm in Oklahoma City. Go horrible Thunder! But I love this trade. The Suns have needed that 2 guard who is a scorer for awhile now and they finally got one.

A 2 guard who can create his own shot! Reminds me a bit of Joe Johnson! In my eyes, Barnes is very similar to Bell, can hit the open 3, decent defense, etc... we didn't need 2 Raja Bells! Our starting-lineup is pretty scary now. Diesel, Amare, Nash, J-Rich, and Barnes!

EXACT-O mundo!

J-Rich will be great for the Suns. I feel this has made up for the production and versatility that the loss of Marion brought to us.

He even may be MORE potent than Marion, whose whole offense tactic was cherry picking the 3line, chucking up a few to coax his defender in, then the next 3 plays he would slash in for an alley oop.

Richardson is 10% better than marion at the 3 ball line and has JUST as good hops.

I am cautiously optimistic to see if porter can conduct this system into a flawless symphony.

If we could somehow get Bayless from POR, this team will have some pieces to build on in '10. We really need a hit on the '09 1st rounder as we won't have one in 2010.

IMO (and im a UofA fan) I dont think Bayless is going to be a very good player in the league. First, he is stuck on Portland's bench. Second, he is more of a tweener than anything else and can be erratic at times. A sloppier version of Leandro Barbosa. He would have benefited from another year of college.

No one has the freakish hops Marion did (pogo stick fast) BUT Richardson is a better shooter and a better creator. He is also just plain smarter. He does give us alot of the speed that we lost with Marion.

Since a year ago.

Richardson replaces Marion. Similar athleticism and speed.

Barnes replaces Bell.

Shaq replaces Diaw. Allows Amare to move to pf and gives a legit big presence for playoff matchups.

To tell you the truth, its an improvement at all three positions.

i like this quote from J. Rich after the game:

On adapting to the new team so quickly:
Jason Richardson said:
"I'm just proud to be a part of this one," said Richardson. "When it all comes down to it, you just play basketball."

We are all going to be pleasantly surprised by this team.

The only concern moving forward is Amare, but he's been playing better lately, especially on the glass

That is a damn good first seven... Now we just need a backup PG, story of the Suns

Count me in as being VERY happy with this trade. This is a HUGE value trade for the Suns. I wish we could have kept Singletary, but he is small potatoes in all reality....

The Suns needed a veteran PG more than Singletary although I think he will make a good backup PG in time.
