Normally after a loss like last night, I do my usual “avoid the paper, ESPN, and the Radio”. However, as I lay in bed last night, something dawned on me – THIS Suns team is amazing.

We play with 8 guys, 6 of which did very little to nothing before this year. Tim Thomas was released from his team after he seemingly wasn’t going to fit into their system. Boris Diaw was a ‘nobody’ that was thrown into a trade that featured two 1st round draft picks. Leandro Barbosa was just a quick guard that couldn’t make good decisions, so poor were his decisions that he didn’t even sniff the floor during last year’s playoff run. James Jones was just another guy off the bench for Indiana that could occasionally shoot well – but not well enough to get into the starting lineup. Raja Bell was a guard that could play some good defense and shoot a decent 3-pointer, but was never a leader on a team. Eddie House was a good college player, but lacked any size or defensive prowess to garner any respect in the league.

Enter Steve Nash and Mike D’Antoni. With their system and style, each of these unknowns would be given a chance to score and prove themselves worthy to remain on the floor. Now for the glue, Shawn Marion – your role is to make all the plays/moves that we have not accounted for, including offensive rebounding, blocked shots, and shutdown defense.

What a fun team to watch. What a fun year it has been. I do expect the Nash rambler and the Matrix to lead this team to another Victory on Saturday Night. Will they win another in Dallas? Possibly, they have done it before. But regardless, this has probably been my favorite team to watch in the 25+ years I have followed the Suns. Too small, too hurt, too unorthodox has been translated into, too fast, too resilient, and too amazing.

Heads up Dallas/Miami/San Antonio/Detroit/Clippers/Cleveland… enjoy the run while you can. Next year our best player comes back. You think we are tough now…

And too much heart to be kept out of the WCF.

Thanks for posting this. I get so tired of coming to the board and seeing Trade marion or barbosa threads. This team has gone trough a lot, and played some good basketball. They deserve a lot more recognition for what they have done, instead of constant complaining and overreacting after every loss.

good freaking lord boise - is this ALL you do - just bitch and complain because people use a message baord to vent their frustration and talk about the game, win or lose.

Get a grip - people are brimming with happiness when we win and pissed when we lose - deal with it.

Yes people are happy when we win and pissed when we lose. I'm the same way. I just think it's extreme the way it's so up or down with the reactions. You should know, you are the resident Marion basher! :)That's ALL I was pointing out.

Yes its extreme, but that can be expected from FANatics. You can expect all kinds on this board and you will get them. There are some great fans here, but dont accuse them of being reasonable. The suns have had a great year, and I hope it gets better. Either way, the future looks very bright for suns basketball fans.

Boise, no matter how much good you do or how much sense you speak after a loss, you're going to get pounded mercilessly for your optimism. But I'm with you for trying to support a sunny attitude in a short dark period.

Keep at it.

Thanks. I just think there are plenty of things that are GOOD about this team, and worth talking about. I guess i'm not too negative in general, except when it comes to trolls of course:)

keep trolls at bay and keeping the other members here aware of the troll threat with your signature, is a service to the board , not being -ve

Totally agreed.

I think we'll win game 6 and force a game 7 but what an amazing run with an OVER-achieving team.

No Kurt Thomas
No Amare Stoudamire

No way.

Think again. And if we could just add 1 more piece to what we currently have, like JJ Reddick next year, even more amazing!

But I'm not ready to let this year go yet.
