its our last vestige of football until the long barren wastelands of the off season fall upon us. Whats your hurry to get to non-football?

Lets stretch it as far as possible

With that logic, let's just draft three players a day starting the day after the Superbowl.

I can make arguments against the Thursday draft start from both the East and West coast sides. East Coast? Up too late. Have to get up early for work the next day. West Coast? Have to rush home to see the first pick (and, in some cases, that isn't even possible). Second day is even worse.

I get that GODell is trying to build up the fan base, which means tailoring things to casual fans; however, for the people who have traditions/parties/etc surrounding the draft, it sucks ass.

That's what you guys get for not keeping time with the rest of the country. :D

I like it. Gives me an excuse to ignore doing things my wife wants me to do around the house plus more time to come here to see the different takes on the players taken and remaining. I don't watch just DVR and follow the draft on the nfl.com draft tracker. Then go rewind to the Cards pick and sometimes the Texans.

I liked the old format but it could be worse.

Day 1, round 1;

Day 2, 2-3;

Day 3, 4-5;

Day 4, 6-7. And then Sunday they could also televise undrafted free agent signings. :D
