D-Washout wasn't picked on or made an example of, he has a problem that he can't/won't overcome. He couldn't stay clean or comply with piss tests. He is useless and 32 NFL teams have come to that conclusion. Can't be trusted or counted on unless you are a member of his posse and want some weed.

I have nothing against Washington the man, since it's his life, and though I do not do weed, it's sure the hell not much worse than beer as a mind altering drug and probably relaxes you if anything (unless you look at what it does to the lungs which seems twice the tar effect from reports) in my opinion... but I sure the hell have not a single ounce of support for him as a Cardinal fan :newcards:

It looks like Gordon's problem is with all the drugs: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...rug-use/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.00fd135b6e66

A big difference between Gordon and Washington is that Gordon is still (amazingly) on his rookie contract. He's scheduled to make $720k this year — and he'll only have 3 accrued seasons if he plays, which means that he'd be a 28 year-old restricted free agent next year.

If you can get a Top 12 WR for less than $1m a year, you're going to jump through a lot of hoops to keep him on the roster. If you have a guy who already stole $10 million from you, you're not going to be that interested in continuing to give him chances.
Dude. But it's the Browns.

That is the end game of this whole Daryl Washington situation. The Cardinals did exactly what any other team would do. And when Washington came back and was going to be that "All-Pro" talent that many thought he would be, it was proven that he had let his opportunity to play in the NFL, and be one of the greats was over. The easy payday was over.

Now he is just Daryl, some dude that played a few seasons in the NFL, and he has the rest of his life to find out, his best opportunity at success in life has passed him by.

Goodness only knows what the plan for the rest of his life will be. Hope he was better with money than he was with personal responsibility.

The thing that continually gets overlooked when comparing Gordon to Washington is that Gordon wanted to come back. When did you hear any noise from DWash demanding he be reinstated or claiming things were unfair or making any sort of a case at all? We don't even know if he actually applied for reinstatement when he was first eligible. The dude doesn't want to play football. He wanted to get paid like a NFL player but he didn't want to work like one.
