i know we have a lot of detractors of clancys on this board, but i think eli is gonna be runnung for hid life this week'
i predict 2 sacks a forced fumble and an interception, plus at least a dozen qurterbck hurries pressures and a tipped pass or two,

i think we hold them under two hundred yards rushing as a team and eli is forced to beat us which he won't

unfortunately i think warner gets pressured a lot we need a lot of three and five step drops and quick releases to move the ball
our running game don't get off the ground again this week
so thank god rackers is having a good year cause i think we are going to get much of our scoring from him, maybe a touch from the defense, or perhaps a safety warner
i think will only get one touchdown pass again
but we win
something like 20 to 12
i think the phillie game will go much the same our team will be tired and traveling east on four days rest
but i still think we escape with a win there too
9 and 4 sounds damn good

i think drc is for real and you are going to see his talent get better and better each week

If Dockett and Berry play like they did against Dallas, watch out.

Problem is that when they play very aggressively, usually that translates into giving up big plays and penalties. So the question becomes: will the sacks, fumble recoveries and picks offset that? Heck yeah, I'd take my chances if I were Pendy! :)

Watching the Seahawks dial up the 7 DB (Quarter) blitz against us was a think of beauty. I'd love to see us get that aggressive.

We can only hope. I hate when the D plays lights out on first and second down only to rush three on third and long and the QB dumps a simple pass into the soft spot of a zone. Be Aggressive....B-B-Be Aggressive.

Yes! You took the words right out of my mouth. When they are over aggressive, they over persue which opens up the screen passes and the Marion Barber trot.

I hope Pendy opens up the blitz packages a little bit but the players stay in their zones and on their man. My guess is the Giants watched the Seattle tape and saw Adrian Wilson in the backfield all afternoon and gave a game plan for him. This is where they use him as a decoy and Eli gets blindsided by Laboy, Smith or Berry.

While I'm not terribly confident that Clancy can get it done, our players themselves do seem to play with more intensity against the bigger teams at home. I hope that comes through again this weekend.

Not enough pressure on Manning with our front four. Clancy had a very solid gameplan today. They wanted to stop the run and they did.

The Cards #1 problem on D is still open field tackling. They have to be the worst in the NFL at it. At least based on what I saw of other teams while watching the NFL Season ticket redzone today.

Boldin and Fitz would have 200 yards apiece against our defense.

The #1 problem on defense was the short field the special teams gave the Giants all day.

Regardless of the short field, they moved 80 yards in the fourth at will and scored a TD. Eric Green should not even be in the NFL, he is just terrible. Only Cards would be starting such a bad CB for last how many years. Ralph Brown...? Are you kidding me? Will not be on any team in the NFL. We just have a poor secondary if our top corner is Hood, an Eagles' cast off.

That's not a problem that's an excuse. Short fields or long fields the Cards are horrible at tackling in "space".

EDIT: Of course the short fields were a result of more poor open field tackling.

Or not. CP committed to stopping the run. Okay, that worked. Then what do we do when Manning drops back to pass, Clancy? Geez, does he have to think of everything?

Hey, Manning passing is still stopping the run. Sheesh.

I think they just don't want to take on the bigger offensive player since most of the Cards D players as light and fast. Hence, they throw their shoulder and hope someone else comes to clean up.

I read somewhere that Clancy played more of a base defense without too many blitzes. Maybe saving them for later if we see the Giants again?

I'm a huge CP detractor, but I refuse to believe he'd be that stupid. It's painfully obvious that, to beat the Giants in the playoffs, we have to be playing in the desert, and the only way to ensure that is to have a better record than they do. He didn't dial up too many aggressive blitzes because...he isn't aggressive! I can't count the number of times I was screaming for him to bring the heat, only to watch as Eli unhurriedly completed pass after pass, three of them for TDs. But hey, what do I know?

+1. That's plan going into it by everyone who is asked how to beat the Giants. The gameplan was stop the run and make Eli beat us. He did.

ya know if we had rod hood back and drc snd take away those two big special tams returns from hixon, and i think the game completion is changed quite a bit,
but the giants said thay wanted to rattle warner and i think they succeeded he gets careless and his completion percentage drops after a few good hits

then again these were the champs and thay are hard to beat but we hung in there with them haven't they been beating up om people like 44 to10 lately

so as disappointing as it is we can learn from this and be happy we didn't get embarrassed in our house
although a win would have been tasty
