As ALL NFL players will... follow the money! If Rivera ends up here, I believe that Briggs is close behind and rumor mill according to Chicago Tribune indicates that if Rivera ends up with a HC job, then Singletary would be his choice as DC...
If this were true I would jump all over it...

What I meant, is that he would be hallucinating if he thought that we could get both Rivera and Briggs in the same offseason.

Doing so, might trump Leinart/James in terms of importance.

SF may quash that move --

they might let him move outside the division for a promotion -- but I dont see them letting him go to the Cards

Listening to the press conference I really got the opinion that Graves really likes Rivera as he has worked with him in the past. That could be one of the reason why they would keep some of the assistants especially Kruczek and Loney. This would enable Rivera to work on the defense which is his real specialty. Rivera is only 45 years with an impressive resume.

based on his body of work he is a definite viable candidate...the question that will be asked of him is what happened the last half of the year??? thier defense gave up a whole lot of yards to less than great teams...maybe there is a good answer....i can't buy into "injuries" as the reason as everyone has them.....

Whoa! Rivera-Singletary-Briggs? Yikes! I'd jump all over that. Those 3 additions alone would make us playoff bound. Forget the draft and FAs, except our own!

Frankly if you are hiring a CEO or Head Coach, it's up to them to convince you they have a plan not you to extract it with astute questioning. By definition you are hiring a person who should know far more about the job then you do.

By that definition just about any of the knowledgable fans on this board are qualified.
