I think Troy Aikman is rooting for the Cowboys

As a Cards fan, I was far happier with this announcing team than I have been in a long time. Aikman is pro Dallas, obviously, but he did a good job of keeping his bias in check. No complaints from me.

Yeah. I do. Their job is ratings and keeping viewers tuned in. Pointing out that with a field goal the cowboys are still in the game is EXACTLY what they should do.

The reason the announcers seem so biased this year is because we're actually winning, and the announcers are trained to make every game seem like something game-changing is just about to happen. They're never going to say "Well this one's over!"

That said, Buck really sounds like a Cowboys homer and I hate listening to him. Aikman is pretty good, although obviously it bugs him a little when his former team gets crushed.

When we played three games with back-ups, who took all the snaps, that positivity was not being extolled by the national media.

Who is saying the Cowboys are a playoff contender with Weeden as their QB? No one. The same was true with us when Stanton was starting. We were winning games, but not a serious contender. are we really that needy? Mom, Billy's not sharing his toy. mom, billy got to play nintendo longer than me. Mom, Billy told me to shut up. Ugh.

I reflexively dislike the idea of Aikman calling a Dallas game but I thought he did alright, especially when he agreed the hands to the face against PP was pure BS. We are a long ways removed from the days when we would invariably get the third string JV announcers to call every Cardinals game.

The bias was obvious for sure but it was more pro Cowboy than anti Cardinal. I mean do you see any other owner's mug on TV as much as Jerry Jones. I was hoping to see it at the end of the game today but didn't.

The Cowboy's are easy to hate.

Joe Buck is a douche. Loved his Dad but he is a twit.

What did you want him to say? "The Cards are about to score a touchdown and put this game away. Everyone should feel free to turn the game off as it is OVER."

This, perfectly stated.

Still not apples to apples. Weeden has been getting #1 QB reps all through TC up through now. Stanton got #1 reps for what, 3 weeks. So yes Weeden is the best prepared backup QB in the NFL. Simply not worth getting ones panties in a bunch IMO.

Aikman's bias comes through at times but I am basically impressed with how much he keeps it in check.

The other thing to remember is that talking positive about the Cowboys is like saying Tebow, it simply pushes the ratings up. Cowboys fans like to hear it and all of us who hate the Cowboys spend time talking about how much we hate them.......I'm sure their Producers have them on quota's, give us 10 Romo's , 2 Dez's, and 4 Murray's by their 3rd offensive series.

I just don't see getting riled up over this. Every day it seems like there's a thread about how the Cards are dissed. Does this really amount to a hill of beans?

Just win, baby.

Wow. People must hear what they want to hear. My wife kept asking me if the commentators were FOR the Cardinals because they kept saying positive things about our team.

She was shocked when I told her one of the announcers was former Cowboy Troy Aikman.

You are right on. People need to cry even when things are going well. It's sad, really. We're going to have posts all week about how we don't get any respect. I know one thing: 7-1, baby.

Additionally, Aikman was very fair today, as he usually is. He does a lot of Dallas games, and handles it very well.

7-1 has a respect all its own.

Joe Buck is the main problem. He spoon feeds Cowboy nostalgia constantly on Aikman and acts like every first down is a touchdown. It was like he had to go to a prepared script when it was evident we where going to win lol

Wrong. Just because he took the snaps means nothing. Buck's point was Cowboys are so well coached they're prepared for anything. When it was Stanton the media had us in panic mode. The number of snaps doesn't make him the best prepared anything. Every time they mention the game during "GameBreak" they say Cardinals over the Romo-less Cowboys as if that was the key. CBSSPortsline.com has the same headline.

Not how I heard it but then again my user name isn't FrustratedFan which might be a bit of an insight to how you see things.......;)
Just saying.

Tell you what, love that the Cards are 7-1 and most if not all of us on ASFN know the Cards are for real. If the national media disses us it just gives BA more ammo to keep this team amped up.

until we're a constantly winning franchise. We deserve to be looked at like we do.

but I don't care what the talking heads have to say. I just keep watching this team win games.

Funny, go on any Cowboys forum and you'll see plenty of people saying Aikman comes off as anti-Dallas because he's trying to show he isn't biased.

Both Fox and CBS work with ranked commentator teams. Buck and Aikman are the #1 team on Fox meaning that they will in general get the top game on Fox every week regardless which teams might play.

I personally think that the Fox #2 team with Kenny Albert, Moose Johnson and the Goose is by far the best on any network
