So there is a real dilemma for Laker fans if both the suns and the heat advance to the finals (of course we are getting ahead of ourselves). Check out their discussion on the topic:

This was my favorite post:

The MF (SUNS) are like Rocky Balboa! You can just beat the (bleep) out of them, and they still manage to come battling back seemingly unbeatable at times!

Everytime you look at Bell talking (bleep) in the postgame you just want to grab his ass,and body slam him!

Please God! You listen to me about the Spurs! Just this one more favor!!

I can't believe the Rat (bleep) have tied that series up!

I am sure that a "Get over the Lakers series" post from one of the resident Laker fans will soon arise, but who cares...

I would MUCH rather have the Suns win then the Heat. Not sure about any other Laker fans, but I have a few reasons:

1. Other then Raja Bell, I really like most guys on the Suns.
2. Losing a seven game hard fought series to the team that wins the championship will make me feel better about what the Lakers did this year.
3. Listening to the media slober all over Shaq (and probably also talk junk about Kobe and the Lakers) might drive me to a 6 state killing spree.
4. You diehard Suns fans deserve a championship.

Hell, I am even cheering for you guys against Dallas, becuase as much as I dislike Raja, I can't stand that whining owner of Dallas, Mark Cuban.

Well,

I would say that the rivalry between the Suns and the Lakers is in full swing. It used to be so one sided.

Hey, were you the one that predicted that Lakers would lose to Suns when Suns were down 1-3? Man, you were RIGHT!

Of course I want Suns to win. Shaq has won so many already. Give Nash a chance or give the whole franchise a chance!

I don't know if I predicted it, but I definitly said I didn't feel very confident. I saw some of the areas that were disturbing, and felt that the Suns had a legitimate chance to run the table and steal the series.

Seems like so many of the teams in the playoffs are so evenly matched. Other than the Nuggets, I think every team's fans can feel like they had a legitimate chance to do some damage.

I still can't believe Tim Thomas hit theat freakin' shot.

Don't forget about the Memphis Grizzlies, they got swept so fast by Dallas that I almost forgot they were even in the playoffs.

My bad, so 6 of the 8 were VERY competitive.

Hey, how about Raja's freakin' shot against the Clippers to send it to 2OT? That's HOT too. hehe. This year's playoff has been too exciting for me. I can't watch many of them. Just like Wizard and Cavs series (I live in Maryland so I get to watch Wizard). Almost every game is decided by ONE shot and overtimes.

Many Laker fans in Lakergrounds hate Shaq to death. They are in this huge delima. Which team to root for? I think they should root for Suns because that will only make their loss less painful and since there are so many Kobe fans there, it will make the Shaq trade less embarrasing.

Yeah, but to be honest as a Laker fan, it is not exactly like any of the teams are ones that we would pull for:

Heat - obvious Shaq thing
Pistons - History with them goes back to the Magic and Isiah era. Plus, the butt whoopin' they put on us in the Finals a few years ago.
Dallas - May be just me, but I can't stand Mark Cuban. Just a huge crybaby and a whiner. I do like Dirk though (he and Nash have been some of my favorite players for quite sometime, especially after those classics 'drunk' photos of them surfaced on the internet).
Suns- That series was one of the most heated 7 games series that I have seen in a while. Definitly some bad blood built up in that one.

Honestly, of the 4 I'd most like to see Phoenix win. I think it would be a great story, and The Sports Guy may have to re-name the Ewing Theory the Amare Theory.

AS far as Shaq, I don't hate the guy. I think he acted like a child holding the grudge he did against Kobe and the Lakers for so long, also I feel that some of his venom towards the Lakers was un-warranted. However, he is a good guy and a great player and did a lot for the Lakers. The only reason I don't want the Heat to win it is becuase the media will be rediculous and use it to heap more crap on Kobe and the Lakers. Which will seriously piss me off to no end.

my fav things about the lakers fans bitching about some items:

1. dantoni complaining - my god, phil jackson is the biggest bitch (okay, maybe second to pop) in the nba. he goes on and on and on in post game.

2. the bitching about flopping - this from an organization that gave the original flopper his start (vlade) and from the same organization that used a notorious flopper (fischer) as an integral part of their last championship run.

3. the ******* are fishing.

Vlade I will give you, but Raja is a much bigger flopper then D-Fish. Not even close.

Raja is a pretty big flopper and he goads the offensive player into hitting him or extending thier arm into him to create the contact for the flop. He might give them an elbow or push in the back, pull on thier jersey, etc and when they retalliate then he goes down and gets the call. He's done a great job of getting into people's heads and causing them to make poor decisions and then he makes them pay for those poor decisions.

Sure it is seen as cheap or dirty to opposing teams, but at least there's legitimate contact before the flop occurs and if he didn't go down then the refs wouldn't call any of the fouls. It's not like Ginobili, where a light breeze will make him flail about and fall to the ground and he gets the call every time.

I don't disagree, but if Raja was on another team, you would all hate him too.

I can definately agree that I wouldn't like him, but I would want him on my team :)

I know a lot of lakers fans hate him for the smack talk about Kobe. I think the smack talk was very strategical for him. It gave him added intensity in the games (although too much in game 5, but how many elbows would you take to the face before you had enough) and I think he was trying to goad Kobe away from the share-the-ball gameplan and make Kobe try to beat him one-on-one.
