Assuming Williams is healthy this would waste a pick. One of the issues with Murray is getting him to trust specific receivers. Clearly he trusts Willams & Ertz (a must re-sign). The only good draftable TEs will go early. Despite FA & current roster they will have bigger holes to fill

This is a three year old bump! He wanted a TE in 2018.

That said, watching the re-run of when we beat the Rams right now and it’s clear how much Maxx means to this team. If we can keep both, the TE spot is in good shape.

I wouldn't count on Williams if we lose Ertz. I think Jalen Wydermeyer would be worth a 1st round pick. Trade down a few spots and still draft him and it would be pretty damn good.

I each year want a TE. But prefer we emphasize getting a stud DT this year. Gotta stop the run in our division. Niners and Hawks are running teams. Need stud DT, even over DE. We can sign an experienced TE for one more year if need be.

Jordan Davis DT Georiga is supposedly late first round and I would snap him up in a heartbeat. I have been banging the drum for a DT since Eric Swann.
