I think we should have gone to war with Iraq but not because of WMD's. The UN agreed to back up their treaties with Iraq and they never did. Iraq didn't comply so we should have attacked them. We will be losing money on this war. We don't get that much oil from Iraq and economists and financial advisors who have looked to see if this war is profitable agree that it is not.

People running around on a field for millions of dollars are not heroes. Period.

Social service workers, police, firefighters, teachers, charities, missionaries, soldiers, parents, labor activists, inventors, businesspeople who make jobs for everyone, and clergy are heroes.

To even put a football player who plays a game for $500,000 per week in the same category as soldiers who have to go off and get shot at or the people who died in strikes so that we could work 40 hours a week instead of 60 or people who join the peace corps or religious missions to help people in this world who don't have a pot to piss in is completely ludicrous.

If an athlete is a hero to you, your life seriously lacks perspective. I'm as far to the political left as the day is long but, man, turn the damn news on and look at the news footage of the 7 guys who died in Iraq today rather than watching sports if you want to see a hero.
