Why are gay people so sensitive about this stuff? A professional football player shouldn't be trying to play political commentator using social media.

I think football players are paid to play football and not to discuss and being focused in political factors, other people shoud discuss this themes.
Cause if all people who has just a bit of celebrety express all the time their own thoughts i think is a mess,
Also rich people who are sensitive to socials problems should act directely ,helping and partecipate in social activities and not just talking to get pubblicity.
Everything is so fake..many are just drived to do that

So they shouldn't be able to speak up?

Do you want your right to speak up on an issue limited?

He spoke on his own time.

Why are we sensitive? Because of stuff like this.

Rumor has it that Aaron Rodgers is gay. It would be nice for a big time player to finally come out of the closet.

This is a P&R topic, IMO.

It should be posted in the area made for such topics. I would personally like to see this thread moved.

I am all for gay rights, and have nothing against Kluwe, but this has NOTHING to do with Cardinal football.

Even football fans need to be educated and this subject is all about the football culture and the elephant in the room. Everything to do with football culture.

Seriously? The general public pays much more attention to "celebrities" than common folk. If I said what he did, 5 people would give a crap.

To be fair to juza, he lives in Europe and is not immersed in American culture and how different it is here.

Then his comments on American culture come with an asterisk. I believe there are gays in Europe and I also believe there is a general sense of civility about the subject in many European cultures FWIW.

But his comment was about the actions of an athlete when it comes to their opinions on politics and he gave his opinion based on what he feels and being in Europe may be different as a whole. It does not make his opinion or more right or wrong than yours. All he said was that athlete should be athletes and nothing more and even though I do not agree, it is his opinion and I wanted to give context into it.

He also states that the owners should do more, which I agree with. If Ziggy is pro gay rights, he should come out right now and say something in support of it.

From that article Ziggy Wilf (who supported Kluwe) did the right thing in firing Frazier. Now he needs to complete the exorcism by dumping Spielman. Kluwe needs to land a position in the Commisioner's office once his playing career is over. The NFL culture needs a giant shove in the ass.

I was debating juza, not chastising him. Nothing offensive in my response. I commented on why "celebrities" get more attention on any subject. They have the ability to shine a light on any subject which opens discourse. I see nothing wrong with the power of celebrity. Their attention to issues make it "newsworthy". Nothing wrong with that. If you, juza or I trumpet any issue it won't make a ripple.

My critics was not on kluwe expecially.
I just dont like just how some celebrity discuss social problems or denounce inequalities not because of their soul and moral values but because they just like get more notoriety or cause they just want to have a perfect imagine in front of people.
If the world in we are living still have a lot injustices and violence is because the selfishness of rich people

I did not feel you were critizing him and I totally get what you are saying. The only issue is that here in America athletes have more impact on children than thier parents and other role models. If an athlete takes a stand here, it really sends a message. Americans could really careless about how rich they are. If Lebron James and Bill Gates both had a message and they were the same, James would get all the credit and all the kids would look up to him for it.

I never said you were chastising him, again, I am just trying to give you context. It is hard to debate someone when the ideology of the debate is culturally different.
