The one thing i liked best about Ryan was that he wasn't afraid to hurt a player's feeling and would call them out in public. I remember reading a story of how he put 5 chairs on a stage and called a team meeting. He called up his staring OL to the stage and put them on the spot(to state it nicely) in front of the rest of the team and said the team's success depends on them. I wish Green would just lay into his OL and hopefully lite a fire under them. Something needs to be done to give them a sense of urgency. Maybe the crowd can cheer all of the other players being intoduced but boo the OL. I'm trying to grasp at anything that might work.

I thought you were going to say, "Take a cue from Buddy Ryan and get fired during a Monday Night game"

That wont work. What will work you ask? I dont have a clue. We have tried everything.I wish we could combine the salaries of Ross and Wells and get a real offensive lineman

I still want to know why they matched Wells' salary when the Bills signed him (or whatever team it was)

That would be great. He should say "there's going to be a butt kicking on Sunday and Kansas City will provide the butt. And if someone gets hurt he can say "we didn't lose anyone that mattered today" and he should say "we will attack on offense, on defense, and on special teams. O wait that's Bugel. Well that's okay he should just use all of it. Maybe he can even get his team to play with one heartbeat.

More than a couple of reasons IMHO:

At the time they re-signed Wells the Olinemen available in FA had dried up.

We aren't paying him that much, especially when you factor in the increased salary cap for all teams.

Wells will either be a quality starting C or adequate back up at every Oline position.

Duece wasn't ready to start so we needed someone besides the many much worse Olinemen that were on the team and have been sent packing at this point.

And just possibly they saw enough in him to think that with proper coaching he would become a solid to quality starter.

Come on CBus you have to be realistic. If there were 5 chairs that would be too complicated, any more than 2 and they lose focus.

Even with 5 I'd say at least 1 of them ends up sitting on someoen's lap while another chair goes unblocked
