I wish Suns fans were as hardcore as other NBA team fans.

Seriously.. If maybe even 50% of the people that showed up to the game cared Sarver would have been outta here so fast.

Wish fans would boo our team off the court like Philadelphia team fans do.

Wish fans would start chants similar to "FIRE ISAIAH" like Knick fans did.

Wish fans would make signs and poster boards saying something along the lines of "Thank you $arver for killing our team". Just humiliate the guy..

Sad truth is that most of the people that show up to the games are bandwagoners. People who actually cared this much to do stuff like this are too worried about looking like whackos in front of the other people in the stands. This team is doomed. During this sixers game for the first time I've asked myself during a Suns game "WTF am I watching?"

Someone get that old geezer Nash an oxygen tank and a wheelchair.

Yep a city that threw a parade for a 2nd place team that 300K people showed up to is nothing but band wagon fans

Phoenix is one of the best NBA towns there is.

I think people have spoken by not showing when they know the product is bad.

I lived in Philly. Give me Phoenix any day. The only way to send a message to an owner is to not buy tickets. Thats why the Cubs never win.

People who grew up in Phoenix tend to be Suns fans above all else. Don't underestimate the people who'd much rather listen to Al McCoy than pay Sarver and the NBA for a ticket right now. It's much easier to vocally pressure an organization to replace a coach or GM than the actual owner.

There is pretty much nothing but apathy in Philly towards the Sixers right now .... fans can't boo when they don't show up

I'm actually a bit surprised at how long the suns fans have stuck with this current team ... the first couple of years I lived here the suns were a very easy & very cheap ticket ..... i expected it to drop back to that level pretty quickly, but it hasn't and it seems like a lot of people who were introduced/re-introduced during this last good stretch have picked up a fondness for the game ...... I'm going the other way and giving the suns fans some credit here, despite bad ownership

Besides, do you think Sarver is actually able to be embarresed? - Look at how the guy conducts himself, he's definitely not one with a personal shame meter

The Suns just do not have that charismatic franchise player that draws attention to the team.

Steve Nash is OLD and the rest of the team is less exciting than most college teams.

That is the primary problem with this organization right now. They have significantly overestimated the value of Steve Nash to draw gate (and in trade value for that matter).

Very true. The Suns fans have been raised on winning and playing an exciting style of basketball. This is what they want. I don't understand how Sarver and Babby could have missed this calculation.

GSW have arguably the most passionate fan base and have lived with terrible owners for a couple decades. Why don't you post some video of what you chant while you're at a Suns game, presuming you actually go to the games.

I agree, other than the Pistons we are the most boring team to watch in the NBA.

In a van...down by the river.
The majority of Suns fans who go to games aren't as basketball knowledgable as other cities' fans IMO. Thats obviously a statement that cant be proved so....as i said its just my opinion based on going to the games over the years,Suns message boards and the fact that so many fans seem to be behind this franchise that has been quite simply doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.Yes thats insanity.

The fans here cheer like the mob in a Roman coliseum....entertain me and i will come back. They're good fans...meaning that they're fully behind the team even when things get tough and the chips are down etc...but the culture here is "Give me fast, entertaining offensive basketball." Nevermind the rest...

The fact that Sarver can roll out a team in 2011-12 that features nothing more than an old Steve Nash and an older Grant Hill, and still sell it(successfuly) to the majority of the fanbase is laughably pathetic.

This franchise needs an enema. It has needed one for quite some time now actually.
I didn't watch much last year and i'm certainly not watching this season.
Ugghh....i miss cheering for my Suns.

I've lived in AZ for over 30 years, and the one thing I know about prosports is this state supports the hot team. If the product sucks, people won't show up, even the loyal fans.

Phoenix, unlike east coast cities, also tends to have some class. No evidence to support this, but with our DUI laws and the spread out formation of the metropolitan area, I doubts our fans get as ripped as fans from other cities, hence the lack of screaming "you suck". I have a buddy in Virginia who used to have Cards tix with me back in the SDS days, and he is blown away by how intoxicated the Skins fans get.

Well, I had generally positive experiences at games during the 11 years I lived in NY, but I'll also note that the Knicks fans' vitriol towards the organization didn't actually accomplish much most of the time--because they still bought the tickets either way. Same went for the Rangers fans. Sarver would be a nightmare in that situation because he'd have all sorts of TV revenue and little accountability in terms of finances.

The fact is that we are now actually at the low point we've been worrying about for years. I'm willing to watch this disaster of a season unfold if it means progress is made. But honestly, the real fear is Nash and Hill signing new deals after the season.

You have a right to be concerned. I think the Suns have made it clear in the past they want Nash to retire a Sun. I wouldn't mind if he were signed for something near the minimum and would accept being a bench player. There is a time in every player's career to accept reality and take a step back. However, I don't know if Nash can accept this. I believe Hill could.

This. It's freaking laughable.

GSW have arguably the most passionate fan base and have lived with terrible owners for a couple decades. Why don't you post some video of what you chant while you're at a Suns game, presuming you actually go to the games.

I chant whatever comes to my mind loud and passionately. If I sit in the nosebleeds people get crazy with me too sometimes.. When I sit in rows A,B,C and rows 1/2 those people think I'm a crazy hooligan for coming back to my seat with two beers and a hot dog and shouting "DEFENSE".

I'll upload pics and a video for proof that I sit that close when I go to suns game.. I've been going to games since I was old enough to convince my parents to drop me off alone in downtown Phoenix to watch the suns play.. Pre Marbury days. Our fans are CRAP.

I'll probably sound like an over opinionated ******** right now but I'd say over 90% of the people that sit in rows ABC and 123 are pompous douchebags that are more worried about showing off their status and their fake big breast, fat lipped, botox injected 44 year old wives/lovers. They spend more time walking around that pathway/aisle than watching the game. I met one cool rich guy who had a crazy amount of basketball knowledge and thats about it.

The people who I meet up with from craigslist who sell me those "fancy" backstage pass tickets amaze me. The last one was a rockets game last year.. Who sold me the tickets? A big breasted bimbo driving a Navigator on 24" wheels and giant rock on her finger.. She didn't want to go because the rockets suck and her fiance had "better" plans.. I LOL'D when she was going through he ticket booklet and pronounced the Raptors as the "RAPT-ORES".

I choked on my hotdog when I saw this. You can hear my throat clearing cough at the 9-10 second mark. Click on it to watch the video.

Sarver was back there the whole time nervously running around. When he brushed by me I was thisclose to yelling something obscene to him but didn't want to get kicked out after paying for those seats.

Suns fans were some of the most hardcore in the NBA when they played at the old Veterans Memorial Coliseum. It was called the "Madhouse" for a reason.

When they moved to their current location they priced the crazies right out of the building. Most seats aren't even owned owned by people anymore, instead they're owned by corporations.

A bit off topic but do players enter the basketball hall of fame with a particular team?

You mean like when I was a kid and they were giving away two free Suns tickets in every Sunday Republic? I would never call Suns fans fanatical. Not as a group. And Suns were about two minutes away from being moved to San Diego -- because the drug scandal had taken a mediocre fan base and turned it into about 10,000 empty seats -- before Colangelo stepped in and bought the team in the late 80s.

I think he's referring to the atmosphere in the old building...and he's right.
Doesn't matter how easy tickets were to come by either, that has no effect on the environment of the fans in attendance.....then again maybe it does because as NBA arena's become more and more corporate tools of client engagement, and the true fans get moved higher into the nosebleeds the "atmosphere" becomes more and more sterile.
