I'd give all the snaps to Matt Leinart this week

Anyone that has read my posts this season knows I've been and tried to be the most positive poster on the board.Against much opposition I still believed we could win 8 on the road against who we were playing.

Well please forgive me.Now I need YOUR help.I saw what losing Karlos Dansby did to our defense when he's not in the game.Plus his shoulder has been bothering him for weeks and (I think) he might have hurt it really badly yesterday for him not to get up off the field on his own power with the same shoulder. He's an old Auburn guy and he was taught to get your arse off the field unless you need a stretcher.

I can also see the writing on the wall for Kurt Warner who normally would have played that game after getting most of the reps all week.Yet he came forward at the very last minute to tell the truth about the symptoms he was having instead of lying to the team dr's.

I at first thought it was a pinched nerve in his neck as that was the main cause of pain all week and then he proved me wrong and did start to have post concussive reactions and Now I also have to change my beliefs in the fact that he WILL RETIRE after this season. One of his best friends is the guy who got hurt to allow Kurts career to begin,in Trent Green.Trent won't let Kurt Warner play next year with the horror stories he'll tell him.Kurt is too much of a family man and Brenda is too much of a marine to let him play out his contract after the symptoms he's having.

I was amazed also at the game that Matt Leinart had in the second half. The CARDINALS truly have the quarterback of the future for sure and if there was any doubters then they will just have to get in the short line now.I was one of them.I never voiced it but what I saw yesterday made me believe with more reps and coaching this kid could be something special with the players he has around him (with exception of Levi)I really enjoyed how he stepped up into the pocket and did it with grace and kept his face downfield.Yes he started the game throwing high and way too short and behind players but, what I saw in the second half after he settled down was very, very great to see.

In my probably single opinion.I think Kurt Warner should be made to sit one more week and since I doubt we have Karlos Dansby this week.I could be wrong again. It certainly would'nt be the first time.I hate the vikings worse than almost any team ever.My past is with them beating me.Now to have favre on that team makes me want to hurl.

I did'nt see any extra precautions for the titans pass rushing yesterday and if we don't have a SPECIAL plan to block Jared Allen next SNF.Then we won't have Warner for the Playoffs.Simple as that.Jarod can beat Gandy and Levi together pretty easy. He's the best in the business besides Freeney this season.Freeney and Mathis together are one thing but the Williams brothers up front and Jarod Allen have to be SPECIAL GAMEPLANNED FOR.Especially if your gonna play Kurt Warner who is still having side effects.

HERE IT IS: If we don't sit Warner this week and go for it all against the 9ers on MNF.Then I think we will be playing the rest of the season with Matt Leinart as the starter with Warner in street clothes or on IR.That would be a horrible way to end his career at home in a heap.I think Matt can step up much easier and avoid Allen and get rid of the ball like Kurt does'nt like to do.

Our defense is a totally different animal without its leader in Karlos Dansby and if he's not up this week then I just can't invision a victory.Sure does'nt sound like me does it?

I think we can win the game that counts in the playoffs once we beat the 9ers the next week in frisco. Then beat the rams & lions and rest players for the packers game as we'll probably be playing them at home the next week anyway.

We have a ton of KEY VETERANS on this team that are quite banged up and we need to get some of them some rest.Haggans played his heart out yesterday.Boy was I with him all game.Rolle has not had the year I thought he was going to have.I sure hope he makes a liar out of me and starts to show up again in the playoffs.I do think we make the playoffs.I just don't think we beat the vikings next week.

It's kinda funny. Now that some of the negative folks think we'll win next week and I'm on the side that thinks we won't,unless Matt's full week of first string practices gets him playing awesome and finally putting POINTS ON THE BOARD.Which he has'nt yet been able to do.Warner was always able to take the 10 yard holding penalty and yet convert the long third down.Matt isn't there yet.He will be.

I think with exception of the 85 yard run we did an okay job on Chris Johnson who I hope breaks the league record for rushing. That kid is talented beyond belief. His jump step is as good as Barry Sanders because he's bigger and he travels farther. He is very soft on the ground like Eric Dickerson was.Trust me I know.I did love the hit A-Dub put on Johnson though on the one yard line that bowled Johnson over into the endzone.A-Dub can bring it!!!

We need to get everyone ready for the 9ers game and do the best we can against the first vikings game that won't count. It does'nt mean we can't win, just that 2 of our best players won't be playing in that game and maybe more.I'm almost dreading to hear the injury report today.

Forgive me if I sound negative.I'm all up for the playoff stretch.Just not looking forward to one more bump before we can prepare for the playoffs.Shame we could'nt get a stop on one of those 4th downs and that tip ball made me sick.Almost like the one in the giants game that scored.Glad we now know for sure Matt is THE GUY for years to come and I'm pretty sure Warner will retire after this years run.I hope its for all the marbles.I don't see anyone who can beat us when we play our best game on offense and defense.Even with our old vets.We sure do miss the youth of Will Davis (which we'll have back before the playoffs) and CODY BROWN was a major loss for this season. He could have really made a big difference.

Matt might have a Championship in his near future if things keep going the way they are.I really like what coach Whiz has done with the team and coach Davis as well, except for when he only rushes 3 ,I SCREAM at the TV.

Can ya'll try to bring me back from the darkside?

Vegas, baby, yeah!
Doug, I agree with you 100% - put Matt in the driver's seat this week. Tell Warner we need him for the rest of the season and we need to ensure that he's 100%.

We have to game plan against one of the best D-Lines in the league. The Vikes are the real deal - strong offense, strong defense. From what I've seen so far this year, we won't game plan against the Vikes D-Line, including Allen and the Williams, and our QB is going to be pounded to dirt.

The SF game is the key. We have to win that one - not that you ever look past a game in the NFL, but I just don't see it.

Welcome to the dark side. Grab a cookie.

Doug, I've been popping in on the board all morning to see what you had to say...

I can tell you I've changed my mind about Matt. A lot of my feeling about him was because of the whole USC/UCLA thing that has been a part of my life since I was 15. (And which non-Southern Californians cannot fully appreciate.) But most of all I never saw the fire in his eyes that makes me love athletes who have it.

Dare I say that I saw a glimmer of it burning in him yesterday? Maybe it's been there all along and I've been too prejudiced to see it.

What I don't want most for Kurt: The finish to his career that Joe Namath had. Remember Namath sitting on his helmet in the rain at the end of the Monday Night Football Game when he played for the Rams? The game against the Bears? I will never forget that. Saddens me every time I pull up that picture in my mind. I want a better ending for Kurt. And if this is his last season and he stops playing because of injury, well, there is no loss of glory in that.

The season isn't over yet. The end to yesterday's game was hard to take. But this team has surprised us before.

Joe Willie always said "I can't wait until tomorrow because I get better looking every day." I can't wait until tomorrow because I want to see what happens next and the eternal optomist in me believes it could be something very sweet.

Very nice read doug. Even if Kurt does play on Sunday it doesn't hurt to give Matt reps during the week.

Thanks for the kind comments above.

ALERT: With Warner now having all of the MUCH LATER effects of his concussion and his VISION being blurry and unexplainable in his own words that would suggest to me,if I were the head coach that We need to start getting Matt Leinart ready to play the Vikings and don't risk getting Warners career ended by Jarod Allen with a major hit.

It would be rediculous with a guy having symptoms this late after a hit I personally thought Warner as one of the toughest in the history of the league to still be feeling.Maybe in the neck as a pinched nerve but that bad rubberized turf in the Ed Jones dome really put a whoopin on Kurts Noggin.

Kurt is one to lie about his injuries in the past and play with a broken hand and many other concussions. Now with his seven kids and all of his charities that need him he is'nt gonna risk the future. If there is any future football left?

Get Matt primed for the vikes.I scared to hear about Dansby and any other injuries we've suffered in that loss yesterday.Graham and LSH deserve awards no matter what happened yesterday.JUST WOW!!!

Get some backside help for Levi so the future quarterback of the CARDINALS does'nt take a major hit.I don't want to see BSP on the field.I really liked how Matt made his very fast footwork moves up into the pocket letting the defensive ends go past him yesterday. That was impressive.I only hope we can get some points next week on Sunday Night Football and hope Whiz goes down field with the way Matt is playing I think he can do it.

I will just have to pray that by the 9ers game Kurt Warner will be back to take this team to its best shot at what we can do this year.I really thought we'd win 10 or more games this year.Without a doubt. Now I see that in a major question.Shame.Lots of concussions leaguewide.Steelers players trying to blame big Ben for not playing.Ward used to be a quarterback at Georgia .He owes Ben an appology for his comments about Ben not playing.Ben has already had 4 major concussions in his life.

Old school football like where I come from has no place in whats going on today. We played through them like dummies, not knowing anything.Maybe thats why I have so many memory problems at really a too young age to have it that bad.I feel 75.

Has Whiz given a post game interview that says anything about other injury's on the team yet? If so ,could you please post it here? This team needs a major regroup before we play the packers or eagles in the first playoff game at home.

I want Kurt Warner to go out of the NFL on as HIGH A NOTE AS WE CAN SEND HIM PLEASE.From now on I want the ball last with 2:37 to go.I doubt Kurt Warner all of a sudden needs glasses and what we find out might not be what we want to hear.If he misses the 9ers game then I'm gonna need a doctor myself.

Smile Doug.
Worrying about injuries that have yet to happen isn't the way to go.
Could be any guy on any play.

Not saying your concerns aren't legitimate, but stressing over them won't help you if they happen.

I agree on resting Warner.
I threw my hat in with Sho last week in advocating a rest for him against the Titans, I'll do so again if the long term good of the team means another possible loss.
