I'd rather trade Boldin for 1st + Heap than 1st + 3rd to the Eagles

I agree no need to trade him to the eagles who we would probally meet in the playoffs, and I wouldn't want to give boldin the chance to burn us in the playoffs..... which he probally would with McNabb. I still want to keep Boldin though and I hope the managment does everything to resign him but we will find out soon enough. Can't wait till draft day!!

Heap is not a balla TE.

Your getting a 29 year old TE with a ton of wear and tear, a TE who cannot stay healthy - he may have started every game last year but he played injured the whole year and couldnt even practice most weeks, a TE who hasnt been effective for two straight years now, and all in a package that pays him 4+ mill per season for the next 3 years. There is a reason the ravens want to get rid of him and thats becuase they dont want that albatros of a contract hanging over their heads for an injury prone TE.

Add to that the fact we can get a pretty good one in the 3rd as this draft is deep in TE.

I agree, Heap was so full of potential when he came into the NFL but injuries have held him back his entire career. Now that he's almost 30 those looming injuries are a real liability. It's a shame, because I've always liked Heap.

Agreed on all counts.

Chase Coffman will be available in the 3rd round I bet. Heap is damaged goods.

John Clayton of ESPN just said that he thinks the Baltimore deal might get done...a 1st and player (he mentioned Heap as a possibility).

I had a buddy the other night tell me that he was going to quit being a Cardinals fan if we drafted a RB in the first round.

I had a coworker tell me that if we went into the season with Edge as the starter we were doomed this year and he didn't know if he could watch.

I log in here and see vomit over getting Heap instead of a 3rd round pick and another thread where trading Boldin is unlikely and yet another thread talking about how its almost sure to happen.

I really love the draft, but I gotta stop talking to Cardinals fans the week before. We are a very over-reactive bunch.

If the pick turns into Wells or Moreno, then I could live with it I guess. We'd fill in our RB hole, be able to fill in our LB hole at 31, and at least have a slight upgrade at TE.

I am fine with a 1st and Todd Heap under two conditions.

1. Todd Heap is willing to restructure his deal so he isn't making 4+ mill. over the next 3 years. That amount would have to be cut in half minimum.

2. And this one is non negotiable - There has to be compensation given to us in the 2010 draft depending on how many games Heap stays healthy. For example if Heap plays in all 16 games the Ravens owe us nothing in the 2010 draft. If he misses 6 games they owe us a 5th rounder, if he misses 8 games they owe us a 4th rounder, if he misses 10 games they owe us a 3rd rounder, and if he misses the whole season they owe us a 2nd rounder. Or something like that but you get the picture, some sort of sliding scale of injury combined with a 2010 draft pick.

That would be nice but i can't see how they can get Heap to agree to a pay cut. Why would he? I like the conditional pick idea but even if he plays all 16 games, give us a 7th. That's nitpicking,i know.
