So far it looks like he is rising to the challange. After a shakey start he adjusted to what his new coach was asking for and they seem to be clicking now.

In his defence on the shakey start, going from Joe Greene to Deke Pollard was a huge change, more so I think than for anyother coach/position.

Thats the thing with Wendell, he has the physical tools but he lacks technique and pass rush moves. I think Deke will bring out the best of Wendell this year.

Yeah, Eddie is probably better than Emmitt, but I wouldn't really want either of them. It's just sad to watch Eddie at this point.

Hmm.

I don't know about that.

I would say an aging Eddie George is aboot equal to Marcel Shipp right now.

I also would not say that it is sad to watch Eddie George at this point. His yards are down so are his carries but the man is still more effective than 80% of the backs in the league. Yet, he has lost a step, and is becoming more and more fagile.

The Cardinals do not need a Eddie George but I bet there are plenty of teams that do. He is only 30 and still runs for 1,000 yards each season.

Heaven help him if the Tuna gets a hold of him. He would finish the job that 8 years w/ the Titans didn't do.

Peace

Eddie George-

Was on the cover of a book on Yoga this year and he said he practices it every single day. Got to be in pretty good shape. Nothing is better to help you get over injuries faster. I still think he's hot stuff!! Sorry but-- :bhiich: :hulk:

Wait..... Eddie is not better than Emmitt right now...or better than Damien Anderson or Scobey.....honestly, the only guy that has a shot at being more productive than George is Shipp and that's a close race

george averaged what, 3.3 ypc? that sucks. we don't need him. he wouldn't make us better. i'd rather see scobey get some experience.

The scary thing is that that's basically what Marcel averaged last season.

yeah, but tuna could so use him as an ottis anderson type back. you remember, the type of back that rushed for 100 yards in the superbowl for the giants when everyone thought he was already dead?

once again, kerouac plays loose with the figures to make an invalid point. Between kerouac and Devon, make sure you check their demeaning claims - they are usually wrong.

Year Team G GS Att Yards Avg Lg TD 20+ FD
2001 Arizona Cardinals 11 0 0 0 --- 0 0 0 0
2002 Arizona Cardinals 15 6 188 834 4.4 56 6 5 43
2003 Arizona Cardinals 16 11 228 830 3.6 36 0 3 37
TOTAL 42 17 416 1664 4.0 56 6 8 80

Marcel has avetraged 4.4 yds and 3.6 the last two years.

Eddie George averaged 3.3 ypc last season. Do you really want to quibble over 0.3 YPC? Over a game (say, 18 carries), that equates to 5.4 yards.

Is this a fight that you want to pick? Eddie George also scored 5 rushing TDs and only fumbled once (and didn't lose it), making it through the entire 16-game schedule (every game as a starter). Eddie also had a higher yards-per-catch average. Eddie is also awesome in pass protection, and ran primarily out of a one-back set (no help from a fullback).

I'm not saying the Eddie's a much better back than Marcel Shipp, but he may not be a worse one.

3.3 * 3 downs = 9.99 yards not enough for a first down.

3.6 * 3 downs = 10.8 yards. First down.

You're joking, right? 0.01 yards = 0.36 inches. Are you saing the officials can effectively note 0.36 inches in the pile? Eddie George gets credit for the first down, because he's earned it.

You could put any back behind Denver's line and the RB would gain 1500 yards practically, why??? Because Denver's lineman are excellent at cheating and the officials don't flag them for it........ So.....let's focus on our underachieving OL that is overpaid.......start earning your money!!!!!

I still think Eddie would be a good addition if available.....Shipp, George, Smith..........let's run the wishbone!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eddie George's Heisman was a complete sham.

"Three misconceptions went to dust in the desert . . . (one of them being that) Tommie Frazier is not the best college player in the nation. Actually, Ohio State's Eddie George got the Heisman Trophy, then damaged it in airport security. Maybe the little man on the trophy was just struggling to go to his master."

The Hiesman has absolutely nothing to do with how a player will preform in the NFL. I hate it when the NFL gets mentioned in debates about Heisman worthiness.

I had forgot about that, I just figured it was another in a long line of Nebraska QB's that couldn't make the transition to the NFL game.....and that is not a knock on them, it's more a knock on the system that doesn't provide them the tools to move on and be successful at the next level.

Condolences???? He didn't pass, did he?

You are definitely entitled to your opinion, it just seems odd to me that so many Heisman winners are as likely to had uneventful NFL careers as being a successful player.....

Who would you cut to sign him?

Is Eddie George an upgrade over Marcel Shipp?

Would you cut Marcel & Emmitt to sign him (no idea of the cap implications here)?

What would we save if we cut Wendall Bryant.... enough to sign Eddie?

Thoughts....

Personally, I believe Eddie is an upgrade currently at the position and believe they should always make a move if they can improve a position with a quality player...... I believe Shipp could be a back given the opportunity but I don't think he is better right now than Eddie.

If Eddie is in good health he is an improvement over any running back we have. We have a very questionable running attack. I do not know where we would get the money but I sure would like to have him. He can get yards where there are no holes.
