any chance Mendenhall slips to the mid second round? A good 1st day would be Cason and Mendenhall.

It would probably be easier to get Mendenhall then Cason then it would be the other way around. But having the 16th and 50th pick in the draft probably makes our chances of pulling that off slim to none, at least at this point in time.

I was just thinking the same thing. I doubt he falls that far though. I have been really impressed, by many of the guys in these bowls. Chris Long is an absolute animal. I would love the chance to get a player like that. He will be a pro bowler for years IMO. McFadden is a man amoungs boys, but who didn't know that. I was also really impressed with Felix Jones, J. Stewart and Maualuga (LB) from USC.

Maualuga and some other USC player already stated they are returning to school.

Mendenhall is making himself alot of money today. No way he's there in round 2. I would take him in round 1. He's leaning heavily toward going pro. That's according to his mother.

He reminds me of Thurman Thomas in the way he runs.

Yup. He wants to give his brother a chance to start.

I feel he's a late first rounder.

Vonte Davis is a stud. One hell of a corner. True sophmore and should be highly touted next year.

I really really like him.

That was unreal. The broadcaster said he went to HS in my neck of the woods, but I have never heard of him. Screw Cason and Jenkins (hope Gee and Shogun don't see this) I want Vonte Davis.

If he has I wouldn't expect him to stick to it. He might but Rey has been the guy most expected of the LB group to leave early because of all the off field issues he had.

He's one of my favorite LB prospects just an absolute beast, off the field I worry how he'll handle himself he's been in and out of trouble his whole life and was ordered to do anger management after his second beating the crap out of a fellow student at a party incident at USC. But the guy was born to play LB the size, speed and strength is perfect and the guy just loves to hit.

He's one of the guys that Scott Wolf(Daily News guy covers USC sort of their "insider" that their fans all hate) has said is very seriously considering going early.

I think USC's "Bad" season might keep him in school wanting a better senior year but if any of those LB's are going early it's him.

Consider all the "great" players we've seen in the past two weeks, who will be turning pro this year. Then make a list of those the various announcers believed to be solid first-rounders and the total would probably exceed 57.

ASFN members alone could probably make cases for about 72 different players.

Very good players at every position will be available after round 1.

I have been saying it for over a year now.

Colt Brennan is not an NFL QB. And June Jones is not an NFL Coach.

As far as the Davis tackle. It made Joe McKnight look like he was in his 40's. He has Ferrari speed. That was Deion Sanders esque (The running, not the tackling).

Illinois has some nice players on that team. They will be very good next year and years to follow because Zook seems to be recruiting very well. He looks to have good results recruiting in Ohio,DC area, and Florida. Those are some pretty good hotbeds for prospects.

You're absolutely right. I'm very pleased to see Hawaii get exposed. The Warriors had no right to be in that game. I've said all year they were barely a Top 20 team, and they might not even have been that.

As for Illinois, I really hope Mendenhall goes.

Dude was a beast last night. He probably will change his mind now after getting that national TV exposure like that.

Who is Chris Long? Seriously...Do you mean Jake Long of Michigan? If so, I'd love to see the Cards draft him and lock him down at LT...then slide Gandy to LG and keep Wells for depth at both tackle and guard spots.

Edit...I just Googled Chris Long, DE of Virginia...Don't know anything about him. Has anyone seen him play?

Howie's son is impressive. I can imagine him in Oakland.
