Robinson instead of Harrison jr with our first pick
6 sacks in there years....ok

Ugh? He has 12 sacks in 3 years and one of those seasons was a freshman where he wasn't a starter.

What have sacks got to do with anything in college? Chandler Jones didn't play as a Freshman and in 3 seasons and in the 3 he started from sophomore he had 10 sacks. Guess he sucked.

Are u talking about Chop Robinson DE Penn State? 6 sacks in 3 years
Production Is basic for a top 5 pick
If a player has the skills and athletic traits but didnt put good numbers cant be selected too early

Did I say draft him at #4? I said earlier in this thread I think there will be trade interest in #4
I know you didn’t say that which is why I didn’t say you said that.
Teams traded up for Jerry Rice and Julio Jones. If MHJ is truly the guy people thinks there is no reason a team from 5-10 won't feel value in trading up for him.
How many of those teams 5-10 need QBs?
On Chop. He's 255lbs apparently. That Chandler Jones playing weight. Latu is the same weight.
Chandler & Latu looks bigger than Chop on tape. Latu, much bigger actually.
Just insert your prefered Edge rusher above.
Turner, Verse, Latu, & Trice over Chop.
I don't think a defensive HC is looking at this roster and thinking "What we really need more than anything is WR".
I would hope he realizes he’s a HC first & foremost & not a “defensive” or “offensive” HC.
WR is deep
I really don’t like this logic from fans. If a positional group is deep, you are basically me the top player of that group is the jackpot of all jackpots. The hit off all hits. The finest woman with the best personality over all the other finer women with great personalities. Give me that player.
half the stars in the league were drafted round 3 or later.
Outside of Tyreek & probably Diggs, I’m trying to think of any other current top 10 WR drafted in round 3 or later.
We have a heavy run game.
And when defenses try to counter it, you get a bonafide WR1 to beat it.
I have a feeling Edge, DT and OT are all higher priorities.
OT? Sure. Edge? In this class? I don’t know. DT? In this class? Hell no.

Depends on definition of "top 10 WR" but Puka, Kupp, and Amon-Ra St Brown.

Keenan Allen was round 3.

Round 2 and later gets AJ Brown, Davante Adams,

Personally, I think Latu and Robinson are the best in the class. Tough to choose between them. If you think different that's fine. Just insert your prefered Edge rusher above.

I don't think a defensive HC is looking at this roster and thinking "What we really need more than anything is WR". WR is deep and you can get a good or great one further back, half the stars in the league were drafted round 3 or later. We have a heavy run game. It's on the list for sure but I have a feeling Edge, DT and OT are all higher priorities.
If we trade out of 4 to draft Chop, Monti will have gone full Keim time. This coming from a Penn State fan! I'd like him as a later developmental rusher, but we so already have one of those and don't need another.

If we trade out of 4 with MHJ on the board to draft Chop, fire Monti before round 2. Hell, before the 2nd 1st rounder!

11.5 sacks, not six.

And his pressure numbers are through the roof.
ESPN says 6 sacks but doesnt change much, not a sack specialist
I remember myjay Sanders as one of the players with more pressures in his last year in college
I wouldn't touch a player with those stats even with an early second

The logic is that people who get lots of pressures are more likely to be sack artists in the NFL. Sometimes it takes a few tweaks and all of a sudden the pass rusher is get tons of sacks.

I'm more afraid of pass rushers with high sacks and low pressures. That's a guy who just got "lucky".

The question Is not about drafting him, but drafting early

Why?

We just spent a #6 pick on the o-line last year and the this unit has been playing pretty well the last six games or so.

How is the front seven or CB not a higher priority than the o-line?
It’s unlikely DJ will be available, right? Two OT available? Seems it would be hard to pass up.

Probably on DJ, yes.

But I propose we move PJ to LT and either get a RT in FA or draft the best available T with the 66th pick.

If we get lucky and can somehow parlay #4 into MJH plus another R1 or R2 pick then maybe we could work something out for either Fuaga (OSU), Latham (AL), or Mims (GA).

Right now we have picks 4, 17, 35, 66, 69, and 81 (through round three)

4 is for the WR1OTF,
17 and 35 are BPA EDGE, IDL or CB
and then at least two of the next three need to be for defense.

We haven't had a sack since like 2021 man! In the name of all that is good and sacred, get some defensive talent for Gannon to work with, and let the man cook!

I'd consider him with the Texans pick and would get ecstatic if he makes it to round two.
No thanks. We don't need another developmental edge like BJ Ojulari. If we're drafting edge in the 1st, he damn well better be a nailed-on stud. We have too many other needs to reach.
