Chicago doesn’t trade down and takes one of the defensive studs, and the Texans sign let say Garrapolo, and take the other stud, what do we do at that point? Draft who? Trade down? Thoughts?

We draft whoever Ossenfort wants at that point lol. There are so many different ways these things can go depending on FA & what teams lower in the draft are willing to give up in order to move up.

That would be gutting. Not to come out of this draft with either Carter or Anderson would be a real failure in my view. Hopefully you don’t draft this high again so you need to get the blue chips when you do… if not then we will be picking this high again and again

If Carter and Anderson go 1-2, then we auction the 3rd pick off for the highest bid to a quarterback needy team.
Or do the Cards dare take a qb num 3 with Murray inj status/attitude

Kind of jking but I do like the arm strength of some of the top qb in this class

It would suck, but if it's not in your hands it's not really a failure...just crap luck.

...but in reality, this is the NFL Draft. By April we'll have nitpicked over the candidates and their Combine/Pro Day/Interviews so much that Ochaun Mathis will be the #1 overall pick and Jalen Carter will go on day 3.

I would draft a qb. Going to need a qb next year anyway as Kyler is already starting with the "ill play when im ready" talk.

Then when its realistic you trade K1 and go all in on The qb you drafted. By then the team should have a solid roster.

Can you provide source on that? I can't seem to find anything via Google.

Isn’t that when he is supposed to play?

I say we draft a QB and watch as ASFN's servers have a complete meltdown.
I aint against it. It can be a great investment in the future.
Gives us a starter while Kyler recovers,... provides legit serious competition to kyler... then once that competition is decided we trade the loser for 3 first round draft picks...assuming it goes well.

Trade with Indy at #4 so they can ensure their QB pick, and then trade down with the Raiders at #7 who also need a QB.

how in the cluck is that a "Failure"???
we draft 3
if anderson and carter go 1 and 2....we never had a chance to draft them. never a chance at an opportunity...so how is it a "Failure" exactly?

I guess you would consider it a smashing success if we traded our entire draft, plus 2024 picks... to get the number 1 pick.... that would be SUCCESSS...
but then... next year would be failure all over again.....as we wouldnt have enough juice to trade back to the number 1 pick again....

ATL is at #7.
NOTE: The NFL announced in August that the Miami Dolphins will forfeit their 2023 first-round pick and 2024 third-round pick following an investigation into whether the team violated league policies pertaining to the integrity of the game.

Pick

Chicago Bears
3-14 · Strength of schedule: .571
Biggest needs: Edge, DL, OL

DP: It took a dramatic comeback by the Texans to make it happen, but the Bears hold the first overall pick for the first time since 1947. Now the real intrigue begins. Will Chicago keep the pick or trade it? There are more than a few pressing needs to address, with wide receiver among them even though it didn’t make the top three spots listed above.

Pick

Houston Texans
3-13-1 · .481
Biggest needs: QB, OL, DL

EE: The Texans have plenty of needs outside of quarterback, but that’s the position where they theoretically can improve the most -- and the quickest -- this offseason. Would they consider using their draft ammunition to land a veteran QB? If they do, the Texans also need OL and WR help on offense and more difference-makers in the front seven.

Pick

Arizona Cardinals
4-13 · .529
Biggest needs: OL, Edge, CB

DP: How much different will the Cardinals' defensive front look next season? Arizona is set to lose its top pass rusher, with J.J. Watt announcing he's retiring, and Zach Allen, who is second on the team in sacks (5.5), headed for free agency coming off a breakthrough year.

Pick

Indianapolis Colts
4-12-1 · .512
Biggest needs: QB, OL, WR

EE: We’ve discussed the QB need a lot here, so it’s worth a reminder that almost every other offensive position could use reinforcements, too. The interior offensive line could be improved. Even with 2023 free agent Parris Campbell’s breakout season, wide receiver is one or two playmakers shy of ideal.

Seattle Seahawks

PICK ACQUIRED FROM THE DENVER BRONCOS

Broncos' record:
5-12 (.481)
Seahawks' biggest needs: Edge, DL, QB

DP: The Seahawks’ decision-makers should be eyeing help for the interior D-line this draft season. Poona Ford is heading for free agency in March, and Shelby Harris, Al Woods and Quinton Jefferson are entering a contract year.

NOTE: See the bottom of this article for analysis of the Broncos' needs.

Detroit Lions

PICK ACQUIRED FROM THE LOS ANGELES RAMS

Rams' record:
5-12 (.517)
Lions' biggest needs: DB, DL, LB

DP: It seems like Jared Goff has removed any doubt about whether he’ll be the Lions’ starter heading into next season, so quarterback is not on the needs list. However, with Detroit holding two first-round picks -- including the sixth overall selection via the Rams -- team brass still has to determine if there is a quarterback available in the draft that they might prefer for the long-term. With the Lions are clearly on an upward swing, an opportunity to land a top prospect at the position might not present itself again soon.

NOTE: See the bottom of this article for analysis of the Rams' needs.

Las Vegas Raiders
6-11 · .474
Biggest needs: QB, OL, Edge

EE: With Derek Carr’s split from Vegas all but official, the Raiders could have some fascinating options at quarterback. Josh McDaniels and Co. could go the veteran route if they move on from Carr, adding a familiar face like Jimmy Garoppolo, or they could opt to draft one of this year's top prospects if they’re not convinced Jarrett Stidham is part of the solution.

Pick

Atlanta Falcons
7-10 · .467
Biggest needs: Edge, QB, WR

DP: Atlanta has the lowest sack percentage (3.6%) and second-lowest QB pressure rate (22%) in the league one year after they finished last in both of those categories. Someone has to find a spark f

Bychon Robinson might be a #3 option.

In the one and a million chance that happened you take the best QB on the board, or you trade down. It's not that hard.

I'd look to trade back to about 7-9 and I'd want at least a 2nd and a 4th to do so. The next up on my list would be Tyree Wilson or Gonzalez. Wilson reminds me a bit of Chandler Jones and Gonzalez is a ball hawk with good size.
