My question to all of this is why? Boldin has hinted he wants a considerable raise, something we can afford. We have also in the past seen the Card's just let guys walk with no compensation, only to be crucified by fans and media. In a perfect world, we keep Q and live happily ever after, but I'm not ready to lose Dansby, or Wilson, or Dockett in order to keep him, especially considering how we've done without him in the line up recently. Sure I'd love to keep him, or get multiple 1st and 2nd rd picks and a player or two, but that just isn't reasonable.

I'm sure the Cards will take the Ravens offer and just seeing if they can start a bidding war.

That's just it - the Cards need to ensure that if they're serious about this, that they find out from every NFL with interest what Boldin is worth, and milk the living dogsnot out of it.

Boldin is a PROVEN #1 WR. Those don't grow on trees. Everybody knows that it usually takes a couple of years after a WR is drafted for him to truly know how to play the NFL game - Boldin's presence on another team solves that problem.

Personally, I'd like to see the Cards end up with a pick in the Top 15 if they have to let Boldin go, and get Knowshon Moreno. Clearly, multiple picks are warranted, and a ready-to-play player would be nice as well, if possible.

We all know we need a RB, and while I really like Beanie Wells, i think Moreno is a serious difference maker, and with the amount of space with which he could work with the way defenses have to play Warner and Fitz, Moreno could be a ROY candidate in AZ, and be a major piece of a 12-win team.

In short... if there's a way to pawn Boldin into getting Moreno plus another pick or 2, that's got to be the first consideration, IMO.

I have a theory about why that is. The majority of WRs drafted come into a situation where there is another Vet WR who will be more of a focus for the teams offense and more comfortable to the team's QB. It takes a year or two for that to change in the direction of the new guy.

Look at Boldin. He came into a situation where the Cards had nothing at WR and set rookie records. Not only because he is very talented but also because he immediatley became the focal point of the Cards passing game.

I don't think Wells nor Moreno will be there at 26, so I'm focusing on defense here.

1a. Larry English - This guy has skills. My eyes, he has the best potential out of any of the OLB prospects that would be available when we pick.

1b. Lawrence Sidbury Jr - Obvious athletic ability. Good size and explosive. Pair him with Larry English and our other linebackers and d-linemen, and we have a potentially dominate front 7 to go along with an ever improving defensive backfield. Seems people having him rising into the bottom of 1st or mid to early second round.

2. Andy Levitre - Versatile O-lineman who can play G or T and can spend a year to develop

3a. Sherrod Martin - Also versatile and can play either cb or safety and special teams. Would make a suitable nickel db.

3b. Scott McKillop - Tough and a solid tackler. Will take some time to develop but I think he'll be a solid pro.

4. Cedric Peerman - I'm actually starting to really like this guy. Tough, not a dancer and always falls forward. Also pretty darn fast (4.37 - 40yd dash at his pro day at 216 lbs) and can catch and is a willing blocker. I used to like Kory Sheets but Ced seems to me like he could be more of an every down back. Also a great character guy.

5. Everette Pedesclaux - Been high on this guy for awhile. Tecacious defender with a good frame for 3-4 DE. Could be groomed to eventually take over for Darnell Dockett and could fill in admirably.

6. Terrail Lambert - Another DB who would mainly handle KR duties.

7a. DeAndre Levy - Another OLB that the Cardinals have been said to have contacted on multiple occasions. Light but athletic. John Lott might be able to build this guy up and turn him into a solid prospect.

7b. Tyrell Sutton - No good reason other than I like this kid and think he's gonna surprise some people.

Unlike years past, we don't really have a need to draft an immediate starter. I think we are going to start seeing alot of what Pittsburgh does pretaining to the draft. That is, draft players and let them develop for a year before they see significant playing time. This draft gives us the perfect opportunity to do so I believe. Another thing this draft provides us, is the opportunity to grab 2 potentially dominate pass rushers. When you have the opportunity to grab 2 of 'em, I don't think I could pass that up.

my draft would go like this:

26-Chris Wells,THE Ohio State University RB: getting the best RB in the draft this late is an absolute steal.

31-Michael Johnson,GTech DE/OLB: read his draft bio and the bio of Mario Williams. They are very similar and Williams, great talent accused of taking plays off and not dominating, was #1 overall.

63-Daryl Beckwith,LSU ILB:another guy that compares favorably with a former top 10 pick,Jerod Mayo.

88-Sherrod Martin,Troy FS:too good an athlete to let slide any further.

95-Shawn Nelson,Souther Miss TE: another absolute steal. Could be best TE in the draft.

131-Matt Shaughnessy,Wisconsin DE: his stock has taken a hit but he's very athletic and could make some noise in a couple years.

167-Louis Vasquez,Texas Tech OT:another good value pick. I don't know why he isn't rated higher.

204-Everette Pedescleaux,Northern Iowa DT-we all know the Cards are very interested in him.

240-Stryker Sulak, Missouri OLB:who knows maybe the Cards find another late round gem.

254-Jon Cooper, Oklahoma C: a depth guy that could develop into a nice backup.
