If we have the #1 and #33 draft picks, what can we parlay that into to help this team in the future and include Rosen into that future?

Met is right about the family attitude. I’m also concerned about durability. His brother’s issue and his own indicate there may be genetic concerns about durability. I think you may see a crazy offer come forward. There will be no shortage of teams after Bosa. Also if a QB shows big in the post-season that could add other suitors like the Falcons. A short drop down, top 5-6 still yeilds a Pro Bowl likely candidate. I also think a double move down could yield a starting O-tackle. Either Little or Williams will likely be there at 10. The Cards should also come away with a starting LB and a decent CB. Their own second pick could bring in a capable WR. Rather than hoping Bosa holds up they could leave round 2 with 4 starters. Add a couple of DLs, an OL and a WR in free agency and you have a playoff contender.

Great post. Pretty much sums up how I'm thinking right now.

We have needs at LT, WR, LB, CB and you might say 2 WR's, 2 LB's, 2 CB'S, and S. Not to mention pretty much all across the OL.

If we're at the top of the draft, we have to consider everything, and that even includes drafting a QB. You have to look at everything, especially if we're starting fresh.

I hope though, Rosen is the guy and we can add pieces around him, but we have to consider everything. Hell I hope we bluff about taking a QB just to potentially sweeten any trade deal.

We have some nice pieces on the roster and some gigantic holes.

Also thinking back to the Bosa situation, and I might be wrong about this, but I think the type of offset language he wanted is something the Cards have never done. I also believe since he was successful in getting the Chargers to bend, it will make it a no brainer for them to do it again. I don't know if it will be an issue, but definitely something to consider.

Availability is the best attribute, and it does concern me with Bosa.

There's a good chance 2-3 QB's will go high plus all the DLmen. I agree if we feel our QB is set, we could be sitting pretty to trade down at least once, maybe twice and still get a pro bowl prospect at a position of need.

Picking off a few needs in free agency, trading down, and hitting on some picks coupled with a better coaching staff and off/def schemes could make it a quick turn around.

That said, if they decide to stick with whoever everyone thinks is the consensus #1 like Bosa, I'm fine with that too. I'll just hope he doesn't hold out or get injured.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't on Bosa. The last thing the injury riddled Cardinals need is another guy who can't stay healthy enough to play. But you get a lesser player if you trade the pick.

Williams has one year of production and Bosa had a significant injury. Neither are pre-combine surefire #1 picks.

Draft the best player from the smallest school they can find, and talk about athleticism and potential.

For those who are all doom and gloom, look at the progress that the Bears and the Colts have made in one season. We aren't that far away.

Agreed.

But, the current Cardinals team, and front office is unfortunately, looking over a pair of ruby slippers that are on the feet of a witch crushed by a farmhouse.

It took Ballard 2 seasons to make Indy respectable again though.

He had to give Pagano a year. We should not be in that situation. He had to wait on his QB. We won't need to.

We aren't going to chase a Super Bowl next year, but if we play it right (coaches and GM), we can make the playoffs. The NFL is designed that way.

Ballard is the template for what the Cardinals need. Love the way he rebuilt their offensive line and the way he handled the Josh McDaniel renege.

I hope the same people bashing Bosa for his durability also use that standard for asshat Ed Oliver and any other potential draft pick.

What are your thoughts on the top CB's Greedy Williams & Deandre Baker? If we trade back I would like to see us pick one up.
I'm not interested or overly concerned with a #2 CB at this point. Depending on the defense scheme, I want DL/OLB pass rushers, instinctual LBs, and a vet secondary. The rest goes to offense.

The biggest questions for me in this draft are do I still take Bosa at 1, when I want to re-sign Markus Golden AND sign one of the following FAs...

Jadeveon Clowney
Dee Ford
Preston Smith
Demarcus Lawrence
Frank Clark
Trey Flowers
Ezekiel Ansah

because I don't love giving big money to Sheldon Richardson or any of the other FA DTs.

I think I would rather have

One of the above FAs
Markus Golden
Chandler Jones
Benson Mayowa
Robert Nkemdiche
Corey Peters
Rodney Gunter
Olson Pierre
Quinnen Williams

In my mind, that is best way to make an immediate turnaround as long as we can fix the offense.
