It would look like this according to Don Banks.
8th pick
Arizona Cardinals
SAMKON GADO, RB, Liberty

Original pick: Antrel Rolle, CB, Miami
Rolle has been a major disappointment in the desert, appearing in only five games. Playing behind a horrendous offensive line, the Arizona running game has been non-existent. The Cardinals have just two rushing touchdowns all season, so why not give them the undrafted free agent Gado, who had three 100-yard games in his five starts? I know Dennis Green doesn't like drafting QBs high, but investing in Alex Smith might have been the wise move for the future.

The only disappiontment was that he was injured. There is no disappoinment in his play, when he was healthy.

Don who? Alex Smith is already being called a potential bust, Bay Area writers are saying if they get a shot at Leinart they should draft him and trade Smith.

And why would we draft Gado at #8 knowing he'd go undrafted?

Stupid.

I'm so glad I stopped reading SI years ago....such drivel.

Gado wouldn't have been anything behind this OLine. Getting a little better but injuries and tinkering killed the cohesiveness. Where would you have drafted him?? 7th?? I like McCoy. We didn't have a 6th, I like Mitchell. I don't see why this was even brought up.

I don't really think Green should be criticized for not picking Johnny Utah. He wasn't even on the board when they picked. Is he suggesting we mortgage our future for the guy?? I'd rather see us package up picks for Leinart/Young/Cutler....heck even Rodgers, but no way on Smith.

If the Cardinals had selected Gado with the first pick, I would have driven from Las Vegas to the Cardinal front office and personally burned it down to the ground. For that reason alone (keeping me out of jail),it was a good choice to select Rolle.

If Don Banks ever invents a time machine and starts fooling around with the timeline, I'm going medieval on his sorry butt.

Wow.... We should have drafted Gado? Are they crazy? I guess all 32 teams were wrong in drafting him because he was undrafted if my memory isn't failing me..... Plus he wasn't even the starter at Liberty actually 3rd or 4th string... Great writing... Whew.... Let that one slip through our grasp....

Was this who the Cardinal WOULD have picked with McGinnis/Graves running the draft or am i confused?

I was really angry when i read this earlier today. Try watching a game, bud. It was dissapointing he was injured but to be honest his limited play excited me. He might already be the hardest hitting corner in the league (Him and Wilson faking/running blitzs next season is going to be just sick if we scheme it right) and i think his playmaking will come as he gets more time in-game........

As for Gado, yeah i watched him in two games and he has Leshon Johnson written all over him....and honestly i would take JJ over him even with a do-over. that comment i read about Denny's offensive blocking scheme being out dated really got to me. I'm still give Arrington the benefit of the doubt because i think with better blocking and another legitimate back splitting carries (Ricky anybody???) i think he could be worth the pick maybe even next season. Maybe its wishful thinking....

We actually should have went back in time and get Troy Aikman, but cryogenically froze him so that teams wouldn't take the risk, seeing as how he had been cryogenically frozen, and then unfreeze him and select him at #8. Brilliant.

I agree that playing in only five games is a huge disappointment. All the talent in the world means nothing if you don't see the field. Hopefully we'll see more of him next year.

Don Banks must be jerking his juice B4 breakfast again.:biglaugh: From who[or whom] did he get his info that ARolle was a huge disappointment? I'll say this confidently for all the Cards fans about ARolle[speaking for you implies only my vanity, so I apologize ahead of time] In 5 games, especially the 1 back against the 'Skins? [1st one back], didn't he have 2 near Int's right away and showed even more aggressiveness? People, we are looking at a hybrid at CB - S if Denny uses him correctly.. We have the CB quickness/size of the Hybrid in ARolle, and the S strength/size of the CB-S in AW..
Also, as far as Rookie CB's go, I must confess that in the short time I saw ButtPack of the Titans on Boldin, he was very impressive!! Darrent Williams of Denver is great, and ERIC GREEN of our Cards is awesome, as well. He should starting along with Macklin, Rolle, and AW.. I'm just not overly impressed with Robert Griffith.. That could well be because I've never seen him shine, but just take care of business, and he just neutralizes his man the whole game...
