If Kalil or Martin are available, you take either one of them, hands down. Tackles are much more valuable than WR's, and Blackmon might be the next Crabtree. This team is in desperate need of at least an average tackle, and Kalil/Martin are graded very high in pass protection, plus they are both good at run blocking. A formidable WR can be found through FA.

Joe Wolf,Ernest Dye, LJ Shelton, Leonard Davis, Levi Brown. Amazing how inept the Cards have been over the years at selecting in round #1.

Of course those are somewhat offset by Ernie McMillan who played 14 years for the Cardinals and was a 13th round selection (the equivalent of the 6th round in 2011) in 1961. ErnieM was selected to the pro-bowl 4 times and started every game for the Cardinals from 1962 through 1972. We need to get a guy like that in the next draft.

And of course then there the sad story of Luis Sharpe. Started 189 Games for the Cards and was selected to the pro bowl 3 times. For those that may not know the background here's a link to an article on Luis from this Summer:

Me too ecspecially if it's Kalil becuase they dude is a stud athlete. I like Martin but if i'm taking a tackle in the top 5 he needs to be near perfect and i'm not sure Martin is an elite talent. I would rather not reach for a need that high.

With a normal offseason, the Draft will depend upon which players the team can sign in FA. If you get a WR, go OL or OLB. Now if you don't get any of the three go BPA. Trust your board.

its early--

but there is no EJ Green equivalent in this draft. Blackmon isnt near the prospect EJ Green was

alternatively, Kahlil and Martin are both far, far better than Tyron Smith, the first tackle taken

Take Kahlil or Martin and feel good knowing you have a LT to play 10 years

Obviously you've never seen Blackmon play...a star in the making. Imagine Q with speed. This is one tough SOB , who's physical with speed. IMO he's just as good or better than Dez Bryant, who's a freak too...but Blackmon doesn't have the questionable character issues.

I'm all for drafting a OT, but I'm also for drafting the BPA. Carry on the tradition & draft what we know best...WR's.

We trade down for more picks because we usually miss on our high draft picks like tackles that should play guard or CBs that play safety or dline men that disappear or QBs that don't show enough leadership or checkdown too much.

As long as we don't draft any of these guys I'll be happy.

Matt Kalil or Justin Blackmon?

I thunk the real question is who do they take with the #2 pick best. QB or Kalil. So glad they wasted that 2nd rounder for Kolb. They could have sucked just as bad with Skelton at the helm.

This x 1000

If Kalil is out and Blackmon is available i'm taking BPA. Blackmon reminds me of Q and Greg Jennings.

If the FO takes a WR next year than everyone should be fired including Michael Bidwill.

Everyone should be fired if we take an RB because we just signed Edgerrin James. I'd rather reach for a need like Levi Brown than take BPA.

That is strange. Was Edgerrin James one of the best players in the NFL and being paid 120mill?

There is plenty of talent to be picked at in the top 5 this year especially the QB position. Last thing this team needs is another over paid WR who will not receive any targets because the QB is terrible. I think the Housler will the one who will open up this offense in the future, this kid is a specimen.

It doesn't matter how much money a player on the team makes. You take the best player. Kolb makes a ton, you still take Luck. Fitz makes a ton, you still take a WR if he's BPA. There's a new rookie scale anyway so rookies aren't making a ton anymore.

Personally i want Kalil the most. That would be need + BPA imho...

We could have Jerry Rice, Tim Brown and Fitz out there and it would matter if the QB cant get them the ball.

We either need an elite pass rusher or a QB in the 1st round... but i really dont trust this current FO to properly evaluate QB prospects.

We have so many high quality needs that there's no way in hell you can fix even a quarter of it in one draft unless you hit the draft lottery.

We only need help at the three most hard to fill positons in football.

Elite LT, Pass rusher and QB. Added to this we need several Lb'ers and a good running back who can stay healthy, plus help at safety, otherwise we're good.

And we have "guess who" on the job to fill these positions.

If we were a horse they'd shoot us.

We have the rest of the season fro Kolb to show us otherwise.

So, if I had a top 5...

Andrew Luck
Matt Kalil
Jonathan Martin
Landry Jones
Matt Barkley

The only reason that I drop the two QB's is because I haven't seen them play extensively. Kirkpatrick, Jeffrey, and Blackmon are all players that are good enough but not huge needs.

This team won't take a QB unless it's Luck, guaranteed. Who knows, maybe we can out tank the Dolphins. Unfortunantely elite pass rushers are hard to come by as well... I really hope Kalil is available, that's my guy this year.
