I used to be incredibly die-hard about this team (hence my username). Then the lockout came.

In the decade since, I have kept an eye on them, but could never bring myself to really start trusting again. Knowing that the team could be gone next year, I had to watch this year's playoffs, it would have been wrong not too, like how if you have a falling out with a great friend you still go to their funeral. I have since fallen for them again.

However, if they move, I PROMISE I will NEVER care about the NHL or hockey again... except, in the case of the latter, when cheering on America putting the Canucks in their place (like in the World Championship this year)! :)

We concern ourselves with Olympic Gold not tournaments rostered with guys out of the playoffs. ;)

If the sale goes through, much will of course depend on the lease agreement. The NHL may have wanted new owners to keep the team in Glendale, but a new ownership may itself want to move the team down the road if attendance and revenue don't meet their expectations (or they simply may want to cash in on selling the team to a group in another city).

But as far as Quebec is concerned, the league is too big (IMO) and there will always be a team "in trouble," a teams with a shaky ownership group, and a team that "needs a new arena." And it's unpredictable: the fact that the Coyotes are on the verge of staying in Arizona--while Atlanta moved relatively swiftly--isn't something I would have expected.

But more importantly, Beat LA!
