It'd certainly be a dollar-to-skill ratio upgrade, but would everybody be okay with it?

I'd be perfectly fine with it. On the court I think it's a lateral move, so it'll would essentially come down to trading to future first-round draft picks for around $10 million and a large trade exception. It's not a move that excites me, but I won't be upset.

I dont think ive ever been maudlin before, but im curious as to how it feels.
If I was 'content' with pj brown, what would it take me to get to 'maudlin' level?
Eric, you can't just pick "angry" and then not explain yourself.
Because it's not an exchange. The Suns should have kept Thomas, period, and additionally tried to get Brown for the minimum. Making a move you should have made in the first place doesn't erase a move that was outrageously stupid and indefensibly self-destructive. And if Brown wasn't available before, he isn't available now either.
The Suns need three competent big men, counting Stoudemire. They've dropped down from two to one; it will be no cause for celebration if they manage to crawl their way back up to two.
At least we got rid of those first round picks, though, right?
This season is going to be held on the word "IF" I think.
I will not be angry if we sign Brown, but I will still be angry that we downgraded from KT. Which option is that?
I also don't really mind losing the first round picks because they would've been sold anyways.
this may be the most galling sentence in sports history. No fan should just expect their team to flat out sell every first round pick, especially first round picks for a team who's window is closing fast and needs to start building while continuing on in the future.
the fact that you don't mind this because you expect the FO to sell them anyway is a horrific indictment of what is quickly becoming in my eyes a pathetic FO.
The reason both picks were necessary wasn't because the trade exception was valuable to us, or that KT is bad, it's because the trade exception is valuable to them. We were desperate to dump money and the only team willing to take it on needed significat compensation because they could have used the trade exception in a lot of different ways.
