If Warner has a hangnail, it's time for him to sit

Nothing left to prove in these last few regular season games. The only thing that matters is having him healthy for the playoffs. Besides, if Leinart isn't good enough to lead us to a win over Detroit or the Rams we need to know that now.

I wouldn't have too much problem with this logic, however, if we let Leinart play both the Detroit and Ram games, that would leave the Green Bay game.

Imo, it would be paramount that Warner would play in this game. It is very possible we would meet the Pack in the first round as well, depending on how things fall with the remaining games

I was thinking about this too. The only problem is, I wouldn't want Warner to get rusty. I was thinking something along the lines of first half Warner second half Leinart. Keeps them both on their toes but keeps Warner healthier (presumably).

I think some of our decisions on who to play and when, might be determined how the Vikings are doing. We will go all this week to secure first place and if the Vikings were to lose to the Bengals we would be only one game back of getting a first round bye.

I really do not want to see this team let up, as maybe this year, it will not come back.

With this team being a rhythm team and clearly not able to flip a switch, I don't think you can afford to sit Warner for a game unless he hasn't a legitimate injury. Momentum is everything for this team. Without it they are an 8-8 kind of team.

We need to stay ahead of the cowboys/Eagles for the #3 seed. The #3 seed will eventually have the vikings. Id rather have the vikes in round 2 than the Saints.

I say play Warner in games, but give Leinart at least half the reps all week with the #1s.

same. if we go 4-0 (very possible IMO) we need the Vikes to go 2-2, which i also think is VERY possible. here is their remaining schedule.

vs. Bengals
@ Panthers
@ Bears
vs. Giants

The only positive win that I see there is the Panthers, and ANYTHING can happen with Favre as your QB. I honestly see them going 2-2 to finish.

Play him. The stats have shown that resting in the final game or two actually hurts teams.

That's just plain silly. If he's healthy he should play!

Sitting Warner sends entirely the wrong message to the team, it says 'we have qualified (which have yet to do BTW) and you can all relax until the playoffs'.
It smacks of last year when we won the Division and failed to turn up for most of the rest of the regular season.
I say play him (Sensibly, as in once we have a good lead put ML in) and hit the playoffs with momentum !!
besides Kurt would hate to be 'rested' I think.

You can't sit Warner now, just play out the games, try to win them all and go into the playoffs as positive as possible.

I would sit him from half on depending on the situation in games that are in hand or out of hand.

Matt playing some dosen't hurt at all and I'd also sit our best WR's the last game or two once the 4th started or near there, just reduce chances of injury that is if the game is in hand.

It is a ridiculous concept to sit healthy players. Everyone should play all games and enter playoffs with full momentum.

Um... the Cards haven't clinched anything yet. And the #2 seed is still on the table. Talk of resting anybody is waaaaay premature right now.
