I think we are severely overestimating Boldins value.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think teams will think about the Roy Williams trade and be wary of giving up a lot or a high 1st.

The Eagles have the most reason to do the deal, teams like that will go after him but you're right they'll try the stingy route first.

The trouble is Boldin dosen't care what we get for him and we're stuck forcing a malcontent situation or getting what we can for him, teams will try and force us to blink.

Why would the Roy Williams trade have a negative impact on Boldin's value? That makes absolutely no sense. Fargas sucks. I would rather have another pick.

I don't think the Cardinal organization wants to pay big bucks for a top ten pick again. I think an Eagles trade for one of their first round picks make more sense as they have two number ones in the draft (#21 & #28). Perhaps one of their first and a third makes good sense.

I don't think so. He's been statistically one of the best WR's in the league and teams would be willing to give up a lot for him. I get the feeling that Fitz want him to stay here as well. If we decide to keep Boldin, we can see what we'd get for Breaston. Not as much for sure, but probably something good in return for him as well. We can be ok with one less weapon either way tho.

Good Player for Good player trades are far and few between. Champ for Portis being the only one in the last 10 years. Just so highly unlikely.

Top 10 pick for Boldin is highly overestimating his value IMO and undervaluing the top 10 pick.

Would the Cards even want a top 10 pick and their salary. I dont think the cards want that burden again unless they really like a QB.

Last year the rumor was that up to 10 teams were offering a future #1 pick in the draft. It wasnt just the Eagles that called. So a 1st rounder is still likely just not a top 10.

The highest likely hood of teams who are also looking for more WR's are

Eagles and Detriot - because they both have two first rounders.
Dolphins and Giants - because they have multiple 2nd rounders thus losing a 1st rounder wouldnt be as big of a blow.
Wild Card team - The Titans.

He has also been injury prone and not happy. Discontents don't get the same value as happy players. I hope I'm wrong, I hope I'm wrong about him being a discontent too as I want him playing in Red and White next season. I just don't think we are getting a good HB and a top 8 pick for him.

Simple, teams look at what other teams do. Cowboys overpay for Williams and get barely any output, teams are worried about being in the same situation.

Fargas also doesn't suck, he plays behind a terrible O-line and gets yardage he shouldn't. I've watched him play and he would be a contributor on our team.

Are we insane??? Boldin is a top 6 receiver who..if you dont realize...probably helps get Warner back. Why would we want to have a top 8 pick...when drafts are a crap shoot...and Justin Vargus???? Vargus....Vargus....did you say Vargus? A taller JJ Arrington? Boldin is our heart and soul. I dont care what he has said....We need him and Whiz will keep him.

Jax wont pony up for a contract that Boldin will want. One of the poorest teams in the league that doesnt like to spend much. They have been getting by with coaching for so long but its starting to catch up to them. The only reason they were high up on the total salary scale this year was because of multiple draft picks that got paid big up front money, but other then that they are usually at the bottom in terms of how much total salary they actually spend.

Cards should offer a restructured deal first, if there is not an agreement then they should tell his agent to find us a #1, #2, in this draft and a player that will give us the value Q gives us. If that can't be done then it is suck it up and play out your deal. Q has both great value on the field for the Cards as well as return on trade. Injuries aside they do not make many players like him.

I'd love to see Q traded to Detroit for one of their #1's. If not, then send him to a team in the AFC like Oakland or K.C.

I don't want him traded to Philly or another team we might meet in the playoffs.

It would really take everything coming together, but I could see this being that rare instance. The first time I saw someone post Suggs for Boldin, I started thinking. It will require the planets to align in terms of everyone agreeing to contracts and Bal Franchising Suggs initially; but it could happen.

Why do so many people think the best way to get better is by trading or getting rid of your good players.

Warner
Boldin
Dansby
Dockett
Wilson
Fitz
Rolle
Arrington
Wells

These are all players that should be Cardinals for the next 5 or 6 years.

The young core of players like
Brown
Campbell
DCR
Breaston
Lutui
Watson
should continue to mature and eventually be core players.

We also need a blend of veterans that can provide leadership while contributing.
Berry
Okeafor
James (thats right, unless an adequate replacement is found)
Hood
Gandy

We have a group of players here that shown us just what they are capable of. Why not retain everyone we can?

Of course he cant force us but he can destroy the team chemistry as I fully expect him to do if we don't sign him to Fitz like $$$ or trade him. Last training camp and his BS at the NFC Championship was nothing compared to what is to come considering who his agent is.

Well, the title was if we are forced to. If we end up with Boldin pulling his best T.O. impression, we are better off without him.

Agreed he will hold out. The bottom line is Boldin is almost desperate to be paid, he knows he breaks down more and more every year and there will be a point where his body just goes, he probably feels it after every game little by little. His RB style will carry him to 33 max.
