how good are our chances of making the playoffs?
how good are our chances of making the playoffs?
Anything is possible! We wold be in. We are in right now if the season ended so it wouldnt change if we won out which WILL NOT HAPPEN!
Anything is possible!
Possible doesn't have to mean probable, grumpy g. grumpertons.Anything but that.

I know, you are right. I tried. Its just not possible. I have been a Cardinal fan long enough to lnow.
You have too by BTW.
Would you like those words deep fried or in a wrap when you have to eat them?We would be in. We are in right now if the season ended so it wouldnt change if we won out which WILL NOT HAPPEN!
Assuming Detroit drops out of the picture, that leaves the Cards and Vikings. If the Vikings are also 10-6, it goes to conference record since they did not play head to head. Both teams would be 7-5 in the NFC if they win out. Then it goes to games against common opponents (minimum 4 games) for the next tiebreaker. The Vikings get us there. They are 4-1 combined against Detroit, San Fran, Washington, and Atlanta (if they win out). The Cards are 2-3 against those teams if they win out.
So making the playoffs by winning out is not a lock, even if we manage to do it.
The Vikings need to lose. Or, if Detroit also wins out they will have a 4-2 division record that will trump Minnesota's 3-3 record. Then we win the HTH teibreaker with Detroit.
Division records of Cards and Vikings will NOT be used since they are in different divisions. That's only to resolve ties between teams in the same division.
If we win out we would at least have the WC. There are two teams with 6-6 records right now, Detroit & Minnesota. We beat Detroit so if we both are 10-6 we go because the head to head is the tie-breaker.
Minnesota is 2-3 in their division while we are 2-2. If we both win out their division record would be 3-3 while ours would be 4-2, so we would win that tiebreaker.
Don't hold your breath on that one. Even if the Cards win out, we would have to count on Seattle losing to one of Carolina, Baltimore or Atlanta, and the Baltimore game is in Seattle....and maybe one at home.
But they will be the worst 11-5 team in the NFL. Ever. For a million years.Nope, the Hawks will finish at least 11-5.
