If you could describe star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum with just one word, what expression would you choose? Potential options from 'champion' to 'deuce' spring to mind, but when it comes to Bleacher report NBA analyst Eric Pincus, the word 'consistent' comes to mind when describing the St. Louis native in such a context.
And given how regularly Tatum is a walking double-double threat for his team, that makes a lot of sense. Maybe even more still when you consider how the Duke alum keeps to himself and his family when he is not on the court, putting up those massive numbers.
"While Jaylen Brown was named NBA Finals Most Valuable Player this past June, the consensus seems to be that Jayson Tatum is the Boston Celtics' best overall player," writes Pincus. "Both Brown and Tatum score and play defense, but Tatum is more dynamic."
"If anything, Tatum exemplifies the Celtics' consistency this season. He's scoring 26.8 points per game after averaging 26.9 last year," he adds.
"Boston knows precisely what it's getting in Tatum, who sets the tone for the rest of the group. Perhaps this year, Tatum will edge out Brown in NBA Finals voting."
