Had the defense but not a solid running game. Only 5 100+ yard games that season. Pretty weak. Probably why they flamed out in the playoff game.

Great QBs overcome

Several in here talking of him that way... shaking in their boots about the Rams now... lol

Well, I think he's an upgrade over Goff so - in that sense - the Rams just got better. It'll be interesting to see what McVay does with the offense going forward.

Supposedly Detroit plans to move Goff too so they will either get a player or pick for him.

Haven't heard that at all. The new Lions' GM used to be in charge of college scouting for the Rams...

Kind of figured Goff will get a legitimate chance to start for them.

My thoughts but with a decent pick/picks. Watch out for 49ers after they deal Jimmy G to Patriots.

Goff is better than Mullens and Beathard.

That salary is not outrageous compared to what the latest deals have cost.

There are ten QBs making over $30 million/year and Goff is in the middle.

49ers deal would include Mullens or Beathard. Lions have nobody @ QB

We haven’t beat the Goff/Wolford led Rams in 8 games. Now they upgraded their QB position, the most important in today’s NFL. Shaking in my boots? No. Realizing our uphill climb to finally beat them just got steeper? Yes. The rams have dominated us for the last 4 years and now they add a QB who statistically adds more TDs and less TO’s than Goff. He’s now in a better system, with better coaching, a better running attack, and a better defense.

Slightly better to be honest, Stafford has higher interceptions percentage

His last 5 seasons he hasnt thrown more than 11 INTs in a season while throwing almost 24 TDs per season. In that same timeframe, Goff is averaging 21 TDs and 11 INTs per season

The numbers are really close to justify that deal

Someone of u noted the fact that Goff played for a better team
But I do remember his first two years, his team was very bad, especially the offense

Stafford also played with better receivers during his career

Stafford is hyped cause he is one of the best thrower ever, from a talent standpoint, in the nfl
But to be a winner isn't enough

Fair enough, let’s compare the last 2 seasons. Keep in mind Stafford missed 8 games last season. Stafford on a bad lions team threw 45 TDs, and 15 INTs and lost 4 fumbles. Jared Goff playing all but 1 game had 42 TDs and 29 INTs while losing 9 fumbles. I’m not justifying the trade, I’m arguing the rams have gotten better and right now they own the rights to our asses

Also might I add, Jared Goff was benched for Wolford in their playoff games. Some may blame the thumb injury, but leading up to the game vs the packers, Wolford would’ve started had he been able to get through his stinger

Apparently Stafford and his wife are friends with McVay and his wife. They spent the last weekend partying together in Cabo after the trade.

If Stafford struggles at all this is going to blow up big time

Stafford is more talented and smarter with the ball. I think he’ll be motivated like Palmer was to change his narrative in the twilight of his career.

In the end did Palmer really change his narrative?

Reeks of desperation by the Rams
They are desperate to win a Super Bowl despite 3 playoff seasons in last four. I like their urgency than Carrdinals normalcy right now. Hope they don't reach playoffs next year though.

I posted that before I learned that McVay is besties with Stafford.

That sort of nepotism never works
